Role Summary The Manager / Senior Manager Chemicals Trading will be responsible for building a two-way chemicals trading book: sourcing industrial, inorganic, and related chemical products from suppliers worldwide, and selling into markets globally, with no restriction to a specific region. This is a hands-on, mid-level trading role suited to someone with an existing network on both the buy and sell side who can operate independently, from lead generation through to contract execution and shipment closure.

Key Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and onboard chemical suppliers worldwide (industrial, inorganic, and specialty segments) to build a reliable, competitively priced global sourcing base.
Develop and manage a global customer portfolio, generating and closing sales across markets worldwide.
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and Incoterms on both purchase and sales sides to optimise margins.
Track global chemical market trends, pricing movements, and supply-demand dynamics to inform trading decisions.
Coordinate with logistics, shipping, and documentation teams to ensure timely, compliant execution of trades.
Work with trade finance and compliance functions on LC terms, counterparty due diligence,



and vessel/cargo screening.
Manage customer receivables and payment terms in line with company credit policy.
Build long-term relationships with suppliers, buyers, freight forwarders, and financial institutions.
Provide regular MIS on pipeline, margins, and market intelligence to management.

Candidate Requirements
8–12 years of relevant experience in chemicals trading, with direct exposure to both global sourcing and global sales.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, International Business, or a related field.
Existing, active network of chemical suppliers and buyers spanning global markets, not limited to any single region.
Solid working knowledge of Incoterms, letters of credit, and international trade documentation.
Proven track record of independently managing a trading book or client portfolio, including P&L; accountability.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Prior experience at a trading house, commodities trader, or chemicals distributor is strongly preferred.
