Role & responsibilities
Study the EDM drawing, electrode drawing, and machining requirements.
Identify and select the correct copper or graphite electrode.
Set up and align electrodes accurately in the EDM machine.
Perform electrode extraction/retraction safely after the machining operation.
Check electrode position, depth, and alignment before and after machining.
Monitor electrode wear and replace or correct electrodes when required.
Ensure proper spark gap, offset, and machining parameters.
Inspect the finished cavity/profile as per the drawing and quality requirements.
Prevent damage to the electrode, mould cavity, and workpiece during extraction.
Maintain proper records of electrode numbers, machining status, and job details.
Coordinate with the CNC, Tool Room, and Quality teams for smooth job completion.
Follow machine safety, 5S, and standard operating procedures.
Perform basic machine cleaning and report any abnormalities or maintenance issues.
