Role & responsibilities
Team Leadership & Project Oversight: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electrical design engineers and CAD draughtsmen. Distribute project tasks, conduct drawing reviews, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
Electrical Infrastructure Design: Conceptualize and create comprehensive electrical engineering design packages, single-line diagrams (SLDs/MSLDs), main distribution networks, lighting layouts, earthing, and lightning protection systems.
Engineering Calculations: Perform and review detailed electrical load calculations, transformer capacity sizing, HT/LT panel specifications, DG set sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop, and short-circuit protection logic.
Tendering & BOQ Estimation: Prepare exact Bills of Quantities (BOQ), rate analysis, technical specifications, material cost estimations, and tender evaluation sheets for electrical packages.
Vendor Drawing Review (GA Approvals): Review and approve vendor General Arrangement (GA) drawings for transformers, HT switchgear, panels, DGs, and UPS systems.
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination & Clash Resolution: Work closely with architectural, structural, mechanical (HVAC),



and site teams to identify and resolve spatial clashes and layout overlaps prior to site execution.
Code & Statutory Compliance: Ensure all electrical engineering drawings and schematics strictly adhere to Indian Standards (IS), National Building Code (NBC), local power authority (CEIG/TNEB) guidelines, and statutory regulations.

Preferred candidate profile
Education: Bachelors Degree (BE / B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE).
Experience: 4 to 8+ years of core design experience in an MEP engineering consultancy or real estate design setting, with proven experience supervising a design team.
Mandatory Background: Candidates must come strictly from an Electrical Engineering (EEE) Design background (site-only or HVAC/Mechanical-only profiles will not be considered).
Software Proficiency: Expert proficiency in AutoCAD 2D. Working knowledge of DIALux (lighting design), Revit (BIM), and electrical load spreadsheets is a strong plus.
Codes & Standards: Solid experience designing as per Indian Standards (IS), NBC, and local electricity authority codes.
Location Mapping: Offices in Chennai, Bangalore, and Trichy (Profile mapped based on experience and location fit).
