Job responsibilities –

Job Summary: (CAD Engineer - Mechanical)

An Industrial Piping Designer is responsible for creating detailed drawings and technical documents for industrial piping systems. They work closely with engineers and other project team members to ensure that piping designs are accurate, productive, and comply with relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare piping drawings: Create detailed piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), isometric drawings, and general arrangement drawings with all the required piping calculations.

Understand piping specifications: Thoroughly understand piping specifications, materials, and equipment requirements.

Material selection: Select appropriate piping materials based on fluid properties, pressure, temperature, and corrosion resistance.

Component selection: Choose suitable valves, fittings, and other components for the piping system.

Hydraulic calculations: Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate flow rates and pressure drops.

Stress analysis:



Analyze piping systems for stress and fatigue to ensure structural integrity.

Apply design standards: Adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations, such as ASME, ANSI, and API etc.

Coordinate with engineers: Work closely with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and other team members to develop and refine piping designs.

Review and revise drawings: Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Prepare technical documents: Create technical documents, such as bills of materials, equipment lists, and installation details.

Stay updated on industry trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and software advancements.

Required Qualifications:

Technical education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in mechanical field.

CAD proficiency: Solid proficiency in CREO software.

Knowledge of piping systems: Understanding of industrial piping systems, components, and materials.

Attention to detail: Ability to work with precision and accuracy.

Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and resolve design challenges.

Communication skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with a team of engineers and technicians
