Job Summary

We are looking for a technically sound and customer-focused Service Engineer to join our Service & Maintenance Team. The candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning, servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdown support of DG sets and related power-generation equipment.

The role involves regular customer visits and coordination with the internal technical team to ensure timely resolution of service complaints.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, commission and service DG sets at customer locations.
- Carry out preventive and scheduled maintenance of DG sets.
- Attend breakdown and emergency service calls.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
- Troubleshoot issues related to engine, alternator, batteries, control panels, AMF/ATS panels and associated systems.
- Conduct routine inspection and performance checks of DG sets.
- Identify the root cause of equipment failures and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Carry out servicing, repairs and replacement of defective components.
- Maintain proper service records, checklists and job reports.
- Coordinate with customers regarding service schedules and technical requirements.
- Explain equipment operation, basic maintenance and safety procedures to customers.
- Coordinate with spare-parts and service teams for timely availability of required components.
- Follow safety procedures while working at customer locations.
- Escalate major technical issues to the Senior Engineer/Service Manager.
- Ensure customer complaints are attended to and closed within the required timeline.
- Support warranty-related service activities.
- Maintain tools, testing equipment and service materials properly.
- Travel to customer locations within the assigned territory as required.

Candidate Profile

Education:

- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical or related engineering disciplines.
- Candidates with relevant technical qualifications and practical knowledge may also be considered.

Experience:

- 0–3 years of experience in service, maintenance or field engineering.




- Freshers with good technical knowledge and willingness to work in the field can apply.
- Experience with DG sets, engines, alternators, electrical panels or industrial equipment will be an advantage.

Required Technical Skills

- Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Understanding of DG sets and generator components.
- Basic knowledge of engines, alternators and control panels.
- Ability to read basic electrical wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of electrical testing equipment such as multimeter and clamp meter.
- Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Basic understanding of AMF/ATS systems will be an advantage.

Job Summary

The Service Technician will support the Service Engineer in installation, maintenance,



servicing and troubleshooting of DG sets and related equipment at customer locations. The role requires hands-on technical work, preventive maintenance and timely attendance of service calls.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist Service Engineers in installation and commissioning of DG sets.
- Attend customer service and breakdown calls.
- Carry out routine inspection and preventive maintenance.
- Check engine oil, coolant, battery, belts, filters and other maintenance items.
- Assist in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Check batteries, alternators, control panels and electrical connections.
- Assist in identifying defective components and carrying out replacements.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper operating condition of DG sets.
- Support testing and trial runs after servicing or repairs.
- Follow service schedules provided by the Service Manager.
- Maintain service tools and equipment.
- Record work completed at each customer location.
- Prepare service/job completion reports.
- Maintain proper documentation of replaced parts and materials used.
- Follow company and customer safety procedures.
- Escalate technical issues to the Service Engineer.
- Maintain professional behaviour while dealing with customers.
- Travel to customer locations as required.

Qualification

- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Automobile, Electronics or related technical fields.
- Freshers can be considered.
- 0–3 years of relevant service/maintenance experience preferred.
