A Junior Accountant supports the accounting and finance team by maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and assisting with daily accounting operations. This role is ideal for entry-level professionals looking to build a career in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain accurate accounting documentation and filing systems
- Assist in preparing tax filings and audits
- Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance
- Help prepare budgets and financial forecasts
- Use accounting software to enter and manage data
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of ERP/accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Tally
- Internship or prior accounting experience
- Understanding of tax regulations and compliance
- Ability to work under deadlines
Experience
- 0–2 years of accounting or finance experience
Salary Range
Varies by location and industry.
