UAV Engineer

Location: IIT Madras Research Park, Chennai

Experience: 1+ Year

Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month

Employment: Full time

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on UAV Engineer who is passionate about drone building, aircraft development and aerospace innovation.

You will work closely with our hardware, electronics and software teams to build, test and improve UAV systems — from component selection and assembly to flight testing and troubleshooting.

What You’ll Do

- Design, assemble and test multirotor and VTOL UAVs.
- Select motors, ESCs, propellers, batteries and other flight components.
- Work on airframe structures, weight distribution and vibration management.
- Integrate flight controllers such as Pixhawk, PX4 or ArduPilot.
- Configure and tune flight controllers and analyze flight logs.
- Integrate GPS, IMU, cameras and other sensors.
- Perform bench, tethered and field flight testing.
- Diagnose flight issues and identify their root causes.
- Support payload integration and onboard electronics.
- Assist with UAV production, assembly and testing.
- Maintain BOMs, technical documentation and test records.




- Work with the team on improving UAV performance, reliability and design.

What We’re Looking For

- 1+ year of hands-on experience in UAV/drone development.
- Experience building and testing drones, not just flying off-the-shelf platforms.
- Good understanding of motors, propellers, ESCs, batteries and power systems.
- Practical knowledge of PX4, ArduPilot or similar flight controllers.
- Basic understanding of aerospace systems, materials and airframe design.
- Experience with UAV troubleshooting and flight testing.
- VTOL/fixed-wing knowledge or flying experience is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a hands-on approach.
- Passion for drones, aircraft building and aerospace technology.
- Willingness to learn, experiment and work closely with a our team.
