About the Role

Navkashi is looking for confident, energetic, and passionate News Anchors / Reporters who can cover local news, conduct interviews, gather information, and present news in an engaging and professional manner.

The ideal candidate should have solid communication skills, a good understanding of local issues, and the ability to work comfortably both in front of the camera and in the field.

Key Responsibilities

- Cover local news, events, public issues, and important developments in and around Varanasi.
- Visit locations for on-ground reporting and news coverage.
- Conduct interviews with government officials, public representatives, professionals, local residents, and other relevant people.
- Research and verify information before reporting.
- Prepare news stories, scripts, headlines, and interview questions.
- Present news and reports confidently in front of the camera.
- Conduct live reporting / live updates when required.
- Create video news content for social media and digital platforms.
- Coordinate with the editorial team for news planning and coverage.
- Monitor local developments and identify potential news stories.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with sources and the public.
- Follow ethical and responsible journalism practices.

For News Anchors

- Present news clearly, confidently, and professionally.
- Deliver news scripts naturally and effectively on camera.
- Conduct interviews and panel discussions when required.
- Develop a strong and engaging on-camera presence.
- Be comfortable with live broadcasts and breaking-news situations.
- Strong pronunciation, voice modulation, and presentation skills.

For News Reporters

- Identify and develop news stories from the field.
- Collect facts, statements, photographs, and video footage.




- Conduct interviews and gather information from reliable sources.
- Report accurately and objectively.
- Prepare reports and submit news content within deadlines.
- Be willing to travel locally for news coverage.

Candidate Requirements

- Excellent Hindi communication skills; English knowledge will be an advantage.
- Strong speaking, writing, and presentation skills.
- Confident personality and good camera presence.
- Positive knowledge of Varanasi and local issues preferred.
- Ability to research, understand, and explain news topics.
- Basic knowledge of social media and digital content creation.
- Comfortable using smartphones for photography, video recording, and basic content collection.
- Willingness to travel locally for reporting.
- Ability to work under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
- Journalism / Mass Communication background will be preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication and presentation skills can also apply.
- Previous experience in news reporting, anchoring, digital media, or journalism will be an advantage.
