Job Purpose

The Strategic Manager-cum-Executive will work closely with the senior management team to support the company’s strategic growth, business development, project execution, operational efficiency, and management decision-making.

The role requires a combination of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The incumbent will monitor key business activities, coordinate between departments and project teams, identify growth opportunities, ensure timely follow-up on management decisions, and provide regular performance insights to senior management.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Strategic Planning & Business Management

- Assist senior management in developing and implementing the company’s short-term and long-term strategic plans.
- Translate management objectives into actionable plans, timelines, and measurable targets.
- Monitor achievement of business, financial, operational, and project-related objectives.
- Identify business gaps, operational challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, MIS, and strategic analysis for decision-making.
- Track industry trends, construction-sector developments, competitors, and emerging business opportunities.

2. Business Development & Growth

- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, projects, clients, and market segments.
- Support the preparation of business proposals, capability presentations, tenders, and client submissions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the estimation and tendering teams to assess project opportunities.
- Monitor the company's project pipeline and follow up on prospective projects.
- Support senior management in negotiations and strategic business discussions.

3. Project & Operations Coordination

- Monitor the overall progress of ongoing construction projects against approved schedules, budgets, and milestones.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Procurement, Accounts, HR, and other departments.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks, resource constraints, and critical project issues and escalate them to management.
- Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely closure of management decisions.
- Review project progress reports and highlight critical deviations.
- Assist in improving coordination between the corporate office and project sites.

4. Commercial & Financial Monitoring

- Assist management in monitoring project profitability, cost control, cash flow, and collections.
- Review project budgets and compare actual performance against planned costs.
- Coordinate with Accounts/Finance regarding billing, receivables, payments, and outstanding amounts.
- Track variations, additional works, claims, and commercial issues.




- Highlight financial risks and potential cost overruns to senior management.

5. Procurement & Vendor Coordination

- Coordinate with procurement teams regarding material requirements, quotations, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
- Assist in evaluating vendors and subcontractors based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
- Monitor critical material and subcontractor requirements for ongoing projects.
- Support management in resolving major procurement and vendor-related issues.

6. Management Coordination & Executive Support

- Act as a coordination link between senior management and various departments.
- Maintain a tracker of key decisions, priorities, deadlines, and action points assigned by management.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with concerned personnel and report status to management.
- Organize management meetings and prepare agendas, minutes, and action plans where required.
- Ensure important instructions and decisions are communicated effectively and followed through.
- Handle confidential management information with professionalism and discretion.

7. Performance Monitoring & MIS

- Develop and maintain management dashboards covering:
- Project progress
- Revenue and collections
- Project profitability
- Tender pipeline
- Procurement status
- Manpower
- Receivables
- Critical risks and issues
- Prepare weekly and monthly management reports.
- Analyze KPIs and identify areas requiring management intervention.
- Ensure timely and accurate information is available for strategic decision-making.

8. Risk Management & Problem Solving

- Identify operational, commercial, financial, contractual, and project-related risks.
- Maintain a risk and issue tracker for critical projects and business activities.
- Recommend practical solutions to improve project and business performance.
- Escalate critical risks to senior management along with possible corrective actions.
- Support crisis management and resolution of critical operational issues.

9. Process Improvement

- Review existing business and project processes and identify inefficiencies.
- Recommend systems, procedures, and controls to improve productivity and accountability.
- Support implementation of SOPs, reporting systems, digital tools, and performance-monitoring mechanisms.
- Promote better coordination and communication across departments.

10. Client & Stakeholder Management

- Support senior management in maintaining key client relationships.
- Participate in client meetings, project review meetings, negotiations,



and business discussions when required.
- Ensure important client concerns are followed up and resolved promptly.
- Maintain professional relationships with consultants, government authorities, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

11. Special Projects & Management Initiatives

- Take ownership of strategic projects or special assignments entrusted by senior management.
- Conduct research, analysis, feasibility studies, and business assessments as required.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple departments.
- Ensure assigned initiatives are completed within agreed timelines and objectives.

Performance may be evaluated based on:

- Achievement of strategic and operational targets.
- Timely completion of management action points.
- Improvement in project coordination and execution.
- Business development and qualified project pipeline.
- Improvement in project profitability and cost control.
- Timely MIS and management reporting.
- Reduction in project delays and unresolved critical issues.
- Improvement in collections and commercial follow-up.
- Effectiveness of cross-functional coordination.
- Successful implementation of management initiatives and process improvements.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Ability to understand project costs, budgets, contracts, and commercial matters.

- Ability to prepare presentations, MIS, dashboards, and analytical reports.
- Solid negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
- High level of confidentiality, integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualification & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- MBA / PGDM / qualification in Project Management or Business Management will be an advantage.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, real estate, EPC, or related industries.
- Experience working directly with senior management or promoters will be an advantage.

Role Profile

This is a high-responsibility, cross-functional role requiring the individual to operate both as a strategic thinker and an execution-oriented manager. The position is expected to ensure that management priorities are converted into measurable actions and that critical business and project matters receive timely attention and resolution.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
