Night Shift, 8:00 PM – 4:00 AM IST, Monday to Friday (this will be an optional consideration after you have spent a minimum of 6 months with the company)

Solis Corporation LLP is the Indian operations arm of Solis Pacific Recycling Ltd, a New Zealand-based, third-generation non-ferrous metals trading company operating across 40+ countries. Our trade network spans the US, UK, Europe, Australia, Canada, India, and Southeast Asia.

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced trade operations professional — You will independently handle supplier coordination, shipping documentation, and deal tracking during your shift.

This role requires someone who already knows the import/export business. You will be the point of contact for the company during your shift, making judgment calls and managing live situations with suppliers, freight forwarders, and banks — without supervision. We are not looking to train someone from scratch and would prefer some prior experience.

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Supplier Coordination:

- Communicate with suppliers in the US, Europe, Canada, and Australia on loading schedules, material availability, and booking confirmations
- Coordinate with freight forwarders on cargo bookings and shipping instructions
- Follow up on pre-shipment documentation: packing lists, weight confirmations, and pre-alerts




- Track and update container and shipment details in internal systems

Operations & Documentation:

- Prepare and review shipping documents: bill of lading drafts, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of analysis
- Coordinate documentary collection packages for Indian buyers
- Liaise with banks on document submissions, discrepancies, and payment follow-ups
- Handle buyer communication on documentation queries, arrival ETAs, and port updates
- Support regulatory compliance documentation for purchases from the EU, UK, and other regulated markets

Night Shift Duties: (if this is something we consider you for)

- Monitor and respond to incoming emails from global suppliers, freight partners, and buyers
- Draft and dispatch follow-up and escalation emails independently
- Prepare an end-of-shift handover note for the day team each morning
- Flag urgent issues (payment delays, cargo holds, documentation gaps) immediately

Requirements

- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in import/export operations, shipping, freight forwarding, or international trade documentation
- Working knowledge of shipping documents: bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of analysis




- Experience dealing with international shipping lines (Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, etc.) and/or freight forwarders
- Familiarity with shipping line portals and container tracking systems
- Strong written English — you will communicate with global counterparts independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail)
- High attention to detail — documentation errors in this business have real financial consequences
- Ability to work independently through the night with minimal supervision
- Willing to commit to a permanent night shift schedule

Preferred

- Experience in metals, commodities, or scrap trading
- Exposure to documentary collections (CAD) or bank document handling
- Prior experience working with US/European counterparts across time zones
