Roles & Responsibilities - ELECTRICAL MODELER (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM)

A BIM (Building Information Modeling) Electrical Modeler is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining 3D electrical models for buildings and infrastructure projects using BIM software such as Autodesk Revit. The role supports design coordination, clash detection, construction documentation, and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain 3D electrical BIM models using Revit and other BIM tools.
- Model electrical systems including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting systems
- Earthing and lightning protection
- Fire alarm systems
- Low-voltage systems (CCTV, Access Control, PA, Data & Telecom)

- Prepare electrical layouts, sections, schedules, and detailed drawings.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, and Architectural disciplines.
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks and resolve model conflicts.
- Ensure BIM standards, project requirements, and quality procedures are followed.
- Extract quantities, schedules, and reports from BIM models.
- Support engineers in design development and construction documentation.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings with project teams.

Required Skills





- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Knowledge of Navisworks Manage for clash detection.
- Positive understanding of electrical engineering principles and building services.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical design drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with BIM standards, LOD requirements, and project workflows.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- 2-10+ years of experience in BIM Electrical Modeling (depending on grade).
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, or data center projects is preferred.
