Summary

We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize mission-critical MySQL environments across production, non-production, and cloud platforms. The candidate will be responsible for database availability, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security compliance, automation, and supporting infrastructure transformation initiatives.

Roles & ResponsibilitiesDatabase Administration

- Administer MySQL 5.7/8.x databases in Production, UAT, DR, and Development environments.
- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Manage schema changes, database refreshes, and capacity planning activities.
- Ensure high availability and stability of database services.

Performance & Optimization

- Monitor database health and performance using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Analyze slow queries and optimize SQL performance.
- Perform index optimization and query tuning.
- Review database growth trends and recommend capacity enhancements.

Backup, Recovery & DR

- Configure and manage backup solutions using MySQL Enterprise Backup, Percona XtraBackup, or equivalent.
- Execute backup validation and disaster recovery testing.
- Support database recovery during outages and critical incidents.
- Maintain RPO/RTO compliance requirements.

High Availability & Replication

- Manage MySQL Replication, Group Replication, InnoDB Cluster,



and HA configurations.
- Troubleshoot replication lag and synchronization issues.
- Support failover and DR exercises.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

- Develop automation scripts using Shell, Python, or PowerShell.
- Automate monitoring, health checks, backup validation, and routine DBA activities.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and self-healing solutions.

Operational Support

- Provide L2 support for incidents, problems, and service requests.
- Participate in on-call and critical incident management activities.
- Conduct RCA preparation and implement preventive improvements.
- Support weekend maintenance and planned changes.

Additional Information

- 3-4 years of Database Administration experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on MySQL Administration.
- 15 years full time education is required.
- Experience in regulated enterprise environments preferred.
