Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end architecture and solution design for enterprise data platforms on Azure, focusing heavily on Databricks Lakehouse, Delta Lake, and scalable cloud ecosystems.
- Establish target-state data architectures, medallion design patterns, and ETL/ELT pipelines using PySpark, SQL, Databricks Workflows, Auto Loader, and Delta Live Tables.
- Drive enterprise data governance, lineage, and security across the platform using Unity Catalog, Purview integration, and RBAC/ABAC access controls.
- Optimize Spark and Databricks performance through cluster policy configuration, partitioning strategies, caching, and compute cost optimization.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor cross-functional engineering teams, conduct design reviews, and define CI/CD and DevOps standards.
- Partner with business leaders,



product managers, and downstream stakeholders to translate domain requirements into high-value analytics and ML solutions.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering and enterprise data architecture, with at least 5+ years of dedicated hands-on experience in Databricks and Azure ecosystems.
- Deep expertise in Databricks, PySpark, Python, SQL, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Databricks Workflows, and medallion architecture design.
- Extensive hands-on experience with core Azure services, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), ADLS Gen2, Azure Key Vault, Azure DevOps, and Azure Purview.
- Proven track record in data governance, metadata management, and security implementation utilizing Unity Catalog.
- Strong background in performance tuning large-scale Spark workloads, cluster sizing, and cloud compute cost governance.
- Knowledge of insurance domain data models, underwriting, claims, pricing, or risk analytics is highly advantageous.
