- The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations.
- Supervise safety management processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
- Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
- Conduct investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
Corrective Actions:-
- Prevent or stop unsafe acts when immediate action is required.
- Monitor the investigation of accidents and injuries, ensuring that corrective actions are taken
- Ensure safety policy is well understood by staff and comply with the safety standards, rules and
regulations in order to maintain safety.
- Ensure all deployed workers meet minimum criteria for work engagement related to age, skill, general health, etc and take up with PM as required.
- Participate in planning meetings to identify any health and safety concerns inherent in the daily work plan.
Legal Compliance:-
- Form a Safety Committee and conduct periodic meetings.
- Serve as the link between state and local agencies and contractors.
- Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
- Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
ISO 45001:-
- To implement ISO 45001 standards
- To facilitate internal as well as external ISO 45001 audits and adhere to all the compliances
- To conduct management review meetings quarterly and drive the action points decided in the meeting.
Reports & MIS:-
- Prepare monthly Safety MIS and share with management
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
Safety Trainings:-
- Conduct toolbox talks to workers aimed at awareness enhancement.
- Participate in safety training programs and meetings.
- Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
EHS standard :
- Implement & monitor twelve EHS standards across the plant.
