Merchandiser – Job Description

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Merchandiser to coordinate between buyers, design, production, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure products are developed and delivered according to quality, cost, and timeline requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with buyers, clients, designers, vendors, and production teams.- Manage the product development process from sampling to final production.- Prepare and maintain product specifications, order details, and production schedules.- Follow up on samples, approvals, materials, and production progress.- Monitor quality standards and ensure products meet buyer requirements.- Track order status, delivery schedules, and production timelines.- Coordinate fabric, trims, accessories, and other materials as required.- Handle buyer queries and provide regular order updates.- Identify production issues and coordinate with relevant teams for timely resolution.- Maintain accurate records, reports,
and merchandising documentation.- Ensure timely shipment and delivery of orders.- Support cost negotiation and maintain product margins where applicable.
Requirements
- Graduate/Diploma in Fashion, Textile, Apparel, Business, or a related field.- 1–5 years of experience in merchandising; freshers may be considered for junior roles.- Good communication and negotiation skills.- Strong knowledge of product development and production processes.- Positive coordination, follow-up, and time-management abilities.- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and merchandising software/ERP systems.- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
