About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head – Spare Parts (AHP) to lead the procurement, sourcing, vendor development, inventory planning, and supply management of spare parts required for Ash Handling Plants (AHP) across Thermal Power Plants.

The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience in AHP spare parts procurement, strong technical knowledge of AHP equipment and components, and an established vendor database across India.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end procurement and sourcing of AHP spare parts for Thermal Power Plant operations.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge and control over spare parts used across various AHP systems and equipment.
- Identify, develop, and maintain a robust vendor and supplier database for AHP spares.
- Negotiate pricing, quality, delivery timelines, and commercial terms with vendors.
- Ensure the timely availability of critical and consumable spare parts to minimize equipment downtime.
- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Site Teams to understand spare requirements.
- Develop strategic sourcing plans for critical, high-value, and frequently consumed spares.
- Identify alternative vendors and indigenous sourcing opportunities to optimize costs.
- Monitor inventory levels and support planning for critical and emergency spares.
- Ensure quality compliance and technical specifications of procured spare parts.
- Build long-term relationships with OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality and operational reliability.
- Maintain market intelligence on AHP equipment manufacturers,



spare suppliers, and emerging technologies.
- Establish standard procurement processes, vendor evaluation systems, and performance monitoring mechanisms.

Key Technical Knowledge Required The candidate should have strong knowledge of spare parts used in:

- Ash Handling Plant (AHP)
- Bottom Ash Handling Systems
- Fly Ash Handling Systems
- Dry Ash and Wet Ash Systems
- Pneumatic Conveying Systems
- Ash Silos and Associated Equipment
- Slurry and Ash Disposal Systems
- Pumps, Valves, Pipelines, and Fittings
- Compressors and Blowers
- Conveyors and Material Handling Equipment
- Gearboxes, Motors, Bearings, and Couplings
- Electrical and Mechanical Components related to AHP operations

Candidate Profile

- Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Thermal Power Plants.
- Extensive experience in procurement and sourcing of AHP spare parts.
- Strong technical understanding of Ash Handling Plant equipment and systems.
- Must have an established and strong vendor database for AHP spares across India.
- Experience working with OEMs, manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers.
- Solid negotiation, vendor management, and commercial skills.
- Ability to manage procurement requirements for multiple Thermal Power Plant sites.
- Strong analytical, planning, and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualification

- B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering
- Additional qualifications in Supply Chain Management or Procurement will be an added advantage.
