AI Product Engineer – Embedded Systems, AI, Robotics & Smart Agriculture

About the Role
Punjab Engineers is looking for an experienced AI Product Engineer / AI & Robotics Product Lead to build the next generation of AI-powered agricultural machinery, smart implements, IoT systems and farm-technology products.
We are looking for someone who can work across Embedded Systems, Electronics, AI/ML, Robotics, Computer Vision, IoT, Software, Cloud and Product Development.
This is a hands-on product-building role, not only a software or research position.
The ideal candidate should be capable of converting an idea into a working prototype, testing it in real agricultural conditions, improving it based on field data, and taking it toward commercial production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Embedded Systems Engineer
- Design embedded control systems for agricultural machinery.
- Work with STM32, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson and similar platforms.
- Develop firmware using C/C++, Python, RTOS and Linux.
- Interface with motors, actuators, sensors, cameras, GPS and displays.
- Work with CAN, RS485, Modbus, UART, SPI, I2C, MQTT and other industrial communication protocols.
- Develop real-time machine-control systems.
- Design diagnostics, fault detection and remote monitoring systems.
1. Electronics Design Engineer
- Design electronic control boards and agricultural-machine electronics.
- Work on PCB design, sensors, motor drivers, relays, power electronics and communication interfaces.
- Select components and prepare schematics, PCB layouts and BOMs.
- Coordinate PCB fabrication, assembly and testing.
- Design electronics capable of operating in harsh agricultural environments.
1. AI/ML Engineer
- Develop AI/ML systems for agricultural applications.
- Work with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV and related AI frameworks.
- Develop machine-learning models using real-world agricultural data.
- Build AI systems for machine intelligence, crop analysis, predictive maintenance and automation.
- Deploy AI models on edge devices such as NVIDIA Jetson / Raspberry Pi / industrial computers.
1. Robotics Engineer
- Develop autonomous and semi-autonomous agricultural machinery.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, hydraulic/electrical controls and navigation systems.
- Develop machine-control algorithms.
- Work on robotic implements, automation and precision agriculture.
- Develop prototypes and conduct field testing.
1. Computer Vision Engineer
- Develop vision-based agricultural applications using cameras and AI.
- Work with OpenCV, YOLO and deep-learning-based vision systems.
- Develop systems for crop/plant detection, row detection, weed detection, machine monitoring and quality inspection.
- Develop real-time edge-AI vision systems.
- Collect and label agricultural datasets and continuously improve models.
1. IoT Engineer
- Develop connected agricultural machinery and IoT systems.
- Integrate GPS, sensors, telemetry and machine controllers.
- Develop remote machine monitoring and diagnostics.
- Work with MQTT, APIs, databases and cloud connectivity.
- Build systems for collecting machine and field data.
1. Full-Stack Software Engineer
- Develop web/mobile dashboards for agricultural machines and farmers.
- Build front-end and back-end applications.
- Develop APIs, databases, authentication and analytics systems.
- Integrate AI, IoT and machine data into usable software products.
- Develop internal systems for CRM, sales, service, inventory and machine monitoring.
1. Cloud Engineer
- Design scalable cloud infrastructure for connected agricultural products.
- Manage IoT data, APIs, databases and analytics.
- Implement cloud-based machine monitoring and remote diagnostics.
- Work with AWS/Azure/GCP or equivalent cloud technologies.
- Build secure and reliable systems for large-scale deployment.
1. AI Automation Engineer
- Develop AI agents and automation systems for business and engineering workflows.
- Automate sales, CRM, customer support, service, documentation, reporting and internal operations.
- Integrate LLMs, APIs, databases and business applications.
- Develop AI-powered tools for generating proposals, quotations, reports, technical documentation and customer responses.
- Explore AI automation opportunities throughout Punjab Engineers.
1. Product Manager / Technical Product Owner
- Convert agricultural problems into commercially viable technology products.
- Define product requirements, specifications and development roadmaps.
- Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, testing and field teams.
- Prioritize features based on farmer needs and commercial opportunity.
- Manage product development from concept → prototype → field trial → production → market launch.
Technical Leadership The candidate should have the ability to eventually lead a multidisciplinary technology team covering: Embedded + Electronics + AI/ML + Robotics + Computer Vision + IoT + Software + Cloud + Product Development
You will be expected to establish engineering standards, review designs, mentor engineers, solve complex technical problems and build a solid internal R&D; capability.

Candidates with exceptional product-building capability may be considered regardless of exact years of experience.
