ChennaiNest is a Chennai-focused rental property discovery platform using Instagram, WhatsApp and technology to help tenants discover rental homes and connect with properties quickly.
We are looking for a Video Editor / Social Media Editor who can turn raw property footage into engaging, fast-moving Instagram content.
What you'll do
- Edit short-form content for Instagram and other social-media platforms based on the content calendar, available footage and business priorities.
- Edit property walkthrough Reels for Instagram.
- Create strong opening hooks using rent, location, property type and key features.
- Add captions, subtitles, text overlays, music and appropriate transitions.
- Create attractive Reel covers/thumbnails.
- Maintain consistent ChennaiNest branding across videos.
- Edit videos quickly enough for properties to be published while they are still available.
- Receive and organize footage through Google Drive/cloud storage.
- Repurpose existing property footage into additional content.
- Create area guides, rental tips, comparison videos and other non-listing content.
- Prepare Stories and other short-form assets when required.
- Maintain an organized content library and editing workflow.
- Coordinate with the content creator regarding missing footage or additional shots.
Ideal candidate
- 1+ year experience in short-form video editing/social-media editing.
- Strong portfolio of Instagram Reels/YouTube Shorts.
- Good knowledge of CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar editing software.
- Strong understanding of pacing, hooks and retention.
- Valuable typography and text-placement skills.
- Ability to make simple footage look clean and professional.
- Fast editing and turnaround skills.
- Understanding of Instagram's 9:16 format.
- Real-estate/social-media editing experience is an advantage.
A candidate who can produce a clean, engaging Reel quickly is more valuable to us than someone who spends several hours creating one highly cinematic video.
Work arrangement
This position can be remote, provided the candidate has:
- A suitable editing laptop/desktop.
- Reliable high-speed internet.
- Required editing software.
- Ability to communicate and deliver files on schedule.
ChennaiNest may provide equipment/software support depending on the candidate and role requirements.

- Ability to work with a continuous flow of raw property footage.
- Ability to prioritize properties based on availability and urgency.
