Position: Placement Manager
Department: Corporate Relations & Placement Cell
Location: Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Job Summary The Placement Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the University’s placement and corporate relations functions, with overall responsibility for strengthening industry partnerships, driving campus recruitment, generating internship opportunities, and enhancing student employability.
The role will involve developing strategic relationships with corporates, recruiters, startups, and industry partners; achieving placement and internship targets; managing recruitment processes; guiding the placement team; and coordinating with academic and administrative stakeholders to ensure successful student outcomes.
The Placement Manager will also contribute to strengthening SPSU’s industry-academia interface, employer brand, and career development ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities1. Corporate Relations & Industry Engagement
- Develop and execute strategies to strengthen relationships with leading corporates, recruiters, startups, consulting firms, and industry bodies.
- Build and maintain a strong network of HR professionals, talent acquisition leaders, business heads, and industry stakeholders.
- Identify, approach, and onboard new recruiters for campus placements and internships.
- Develop long-term relationships with existing recruiters to ensure repeat hiring and sustained engagement.
- Conduct corporate visits and employer outreach initiatives to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
- Coordinate and facilitate MoUs, industry partnerships, guest lectures, corporate interactions, conclaves, and networking initiatives.
- Represent SPSU at relevant industry, HR, recruitment, and employability forums.
2. Placement Strategy & Campus Recruitment
- Develop and implement the annual placement strategy in alignment with the University’s academic programs and institutional objectives.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute campus recruitment drives, both online and offline.
- Engage with recruiters to understand hiring requirements, manpower plans, job profiles, eligibility criteria, compensation, and selection processes.
- Coordinate pre-placement talks, aptitude tests, group discussions, technical assessments, interviews, and other recruitment processes.
- Ensure effective coordination among recruiters, students, faculty members, academic departments, and administrative teams.
- Drive placement targets across schools, departments, programs, and graduating batches.
- Monitor placement progress and proactively address gaps in recruiter participation and student placement.
- Track offers, acceptances, joining status, and placement outcomes.
3. Internship & Industry Projects
- Develop and expand a strong network of organizations offering internships, live projects, apprenticeships, and industry exposure.
- Lead the planning and execution of summer, winter, semester, and other internship programs.
- Ensure adequate internship opportunities across disciplines and student cohorts.
- Monitor internship participation and completion.
- Collect and analyse employer feedback to improve the internship ecosystem.
- Explore opportunities for industry-sponsored projects, consulting assignments, and experiential learning.

Student Career Development & Employability
- Develop initiatives to enhance students’ employability and placement readiness.
- Guide students on career planning, resume development, LinkedIn profiles, interview preparation, and skilled communication.
- Organize mock interviews, aptitude assessments, group discussions, soft-skills training, technical preparation, and career development workshops.
- Coordinate with industry experts, trainers, alumni, and external agencies for employability enhancement programs.
- Identify skill gaps among students and recommend appropriate training interventions.
- Promote industry certifications, professional skills, and career-oriented learning opportunities.
5. Team Management & Performance
- Lead, supervise, and mentor the placement and corporate relations team.
- Allocate responsibilities and establish clear targets for team members.
- Monitor individual and team performance against placement and corporate engagement KPIs.
- Establish effective processes and workflows for recruiter engagement, student coordination, and placement operations.
- Conduct regular review meetings and provide guidance to team members.
- Ensure professional and timely communication with students, recruiters, alumni, faculty, and other stakeholders.
6. Data Management, MIS & Analytics
- Maintain accurate and updated databases of students, alumni, recruiters, internships, placements, offers, and joining status.
- Develop and monitor placement dashboards and recruitment analytics.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports for University management.
- Analyse placement trends, recruiter engagement, salary packages, sector-wise hiring, and student outcomes.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of placement data.
- Prepare documentation and reports required for accreditation, rankings, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and other relevant authorities.
- Maintain proper documentation and records of all placement and corporate engagement activities.
7. Events & Employer Engagement
- Lead the planning and execution of placement drives, career fairs, job fairs, industry conclaves, corporate interaction programs, and employer engagement events.
- Coordinate recruiter visits, corporate presentations, pre-placement talks, and campus hiring activities.
- Organize alumni networking and career engagement initiatives.
- Ensure effective event planning, logistics, communication, and stakeholder coordination.
8. Strategic Initiatives
- Develop strategies to improve placement percentage, recruiter diversity, quality of placements, and average salary packages.
- Identify emerging sectors, job roles, and hiring trends relevant to SPSU students.
- Develop partnerships with companies for long-term talent pipelines.
- Explore opportunities for international placements, global internships, industry projects, and emerging career opportunities.
- Benchmark placement practices against leading universities and institutions.
- Provide recommendations to University leadership on placement trends, employer expectations, and student employability.
Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM in HR, Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline.
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline may also be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree with substantial relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
- 5–9 years of relevant experience in Training & Placement, Corporate Relations, HR Recruitment, Campus Hiring, Talent Acquisition, Business Development, or a related field.
- Experience in a university, higher education institution, recruitment consultancy, corporate HR, or campus recruitment environment will be preferred.
- Proven experience in managing corporate relationships and achieving placement/recruitment targets.
- Experience in leading or managing a placement/corporate relations team will be an added advantage.
