About Weaver
n
Weaver is redefining affordable housing finance in India.
n
Launched in 2025, Weaver acquired two profitable NBFCs—Centrum Housing Finance and Capital India—giving us an established lending business with approximately ₹2,000 Cr in AUM and a presence across 150+ branches.
n
Backed by more than $170M from investors including Lightspeed and Premji Invest, we combine the foundation of a proven financial-services business with the opportunity to build its technology and product ecosystem from a clean slate.
n
Our ambition is to use technology, data and decision intelligence to make homeownership faster, more transparent and more accessible for families across Tier-2 and Tier-3 India.
n
The opportunity
n
n
- This is an opportunity to help build the core technology engine of a up-to-date housing finance company.
n
- You will design systems supporting customer onboarding, loan origination, credit decisioning, documents, workflows, payments, external integrations, servicing and collections.
n
- The challenge is not simply to digitise an existing process. It is to understand how a financial institution works and design reliable systems that make better decisions, eliminate operational friction and scale with the business.
n
n
What you'll do
n
n
- Design business domains, service boundaries, data models and system interactions.
n
- Build scalable and maintainable backend services using Python.
n
- Develop core capabilities for the Loan Origination System, Business Rules Engine, workflows, work queues and scheduled processes.
n
- Model long-running financial processes with clear states, transitions, controls and recovery mechanisms.
n
- Design clean and well-documented APIs for web applications, mobile applications, partners and internal platforms.
n
- Build resilient integrations with lenders, banks, payment systems, bureaus,
KYC providers, account aggregators, eSign providers and external agencies.
n
- Handle distributed-system concerns such as idempotency, consistency, retries, concurrency and reconciliation.
n
- Build event-driven processes and ensure operational systems produce reliable business events.
n
- Integrate rules, analytical models and decision intelligence into business workflows.
n
- Design for security, consent, auditability, observability and regulatory requirements.
n
- Write production-quality code supported by effective automated testing.
n
- Own features through design, development, release, monitoring and production improvement.
n
- Collaborate closely with product, UI, data, QA and business teams.
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
- 3–8 years of backend software-development experience.
n
- Strong proficiency in Python.
n
- Strong understanding of software design, object-oriented programming, SOLID principles and common design patterns.
n
- Experience designing APIs, backend services and data models.
n
- Sound understanding of relational databases, transactions and data consistency.
n
- Experience reasoning about distributed systems, asynchronous processing and failure scenarios.
n
- Ability to design maintainable systems from ambiguous business requirements.
n
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containers, monitoring, security and automated delivery.
n
- Strong debugging and production problem-solving capability.
n
- High standards for code quality, testing and maintainability.
n
- Clear communication and an ability to estimate realistically and surface blockers early.
n
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new ways of building software.
n
- Good to have
n
- Experience with FastAPI, Django or Flask.
n
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes/EKS or event-streaming platforms.
n
- Exposure to lending, banking, fintech or another regulated industry.
n
- Experience building rules engines, workflow systems, payment integrations or reconciliation platforms.
n
- Exposure to AI or machine-learning capabilities in production systems.
n
n
These are advantages, not a checklist. Strong system-design ability and engineering fundamentals matter more than familiarity with every technology we use.
n
Building in an AI-native environment
n
Weaver is an early adopter of agentic software development. Our teams use frontier models across architecture, implementation, testing, review, documentation and production operations.
n
Previous experience with agentic development is not required. You will receive access to modern tools, generous frontier-model usage and support from a team actively developing new ways of building high-quality software.
n
We expect you to bring strong engineering fundamentals, critical thinking and ownership. We will help you learn how to apply those strengths in an AI-native development environment.
n
Why join Weaver?
n
n
- Build consequential systems from a clean slate.
n
- Work within an established, profitable business with patient capital.
n
- Influence foundational product and architecture decisions.
n
- Learn agentic software development alongside an early-adopter team.
n
- Work directly with business leaders, domain experts and frontline users.
n
- Solve difficult system-design and decision-intelligence problems.
n
- Build for quality, reliability and long-term scale.
n
- Help families in smaller cities achieve homeownership.
