We are building India's first electric refrigeration units for cold logistics, serving sectors including dairy, fresh produce, meat, seafood, frozen foods, and pharmaceuticals.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Junior Battery Engineer to help design, build, test, and scale the battery systems powering our electric refrigeration units. You'll work across battery architecture, cell selection, mechanical packaging, electrical integration, thermal considerations, BMS, and validation — building batteries that need to perform reliably in demanding real-world conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Define battery requirements and develop complete battery system architecture, from cell selection to mechanical and electrical integration.
- Select cells, BMS, fuses, connectors, and other critical battery components based on performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
- Design and develop battery pack components and assemblies using CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
- Work on structural and thermal design, material selection, and mechanical packaging of battery packs.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings and manufacturing files for battery components and assemblies.
- Prototype, test, validate, and iterate battery systems to improve performance, safety, and reliability.
- Analyze battery performance data and support tuning of BMS parameters.
- Work closely with Electrical, Embedded, Controls, and Refrigeration teams for complete system integration.
- Support the transition of battery designs from prototype to scalable, manufacturable production.




- Contribute to battery testing and compliance activities, including vibration, IP, and other relevant validation tests.
- Set engineering priorities, solve design challenges, and drive battery development from concept through production.

- What We're Looking For

Core Skills

- Strong understanding of battery components including BMS, fuses, connectors, and related protection systems.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools, along with knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing files.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design, material selection, and battery pack assembly.
- Understanding of cell chemistry and battery behaviour, including SoC-OCV characteristics and related parameters.
- Ability to analyze battery data and support BMS parameter tuning for improved battery performance.
- Awareness of DFX principles such as DFM and DFA.
- A builder's mindset, with the ability to work hands-on, take ownership, and solve problems in an early-stage startup environment.

Preferred Skills

- Exposure to FMEA, fail-safe design, and reliability engineering for battery systems.
- Experience with MATLAB or battery modelling tools.
- Familiarity with automotive and battery safety standards such as IS 16046, AIS-156, or AIS-038.
- Exposure to battery validation and testing, including vibration, IP, thermal, or other compliance testing.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree is a plus.
