Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare the operation theatre before surgery.
Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and equipment.
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by handing over instruments and supplies.
Maintain strict aseptic and infection control practices.
Monitor and ensure the sterility of the operating field throughout the procedure.
Count surgical instruments, needles, and sponges before and after surgery.
Assist in patient preparation and positioning before surgery.
Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, and OT staff for smooth surgical procedures.
Handle surgical specimens safely and accurately.
Maintain proper documentation and OT records.
Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste according to hospital protocols.
Support post-operative cleaning and preparation of the operation theatre for the next procedure.
