Requirements
Education: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing), often with post-basic certifications in perioperative care.
Experience: Extensive clinical experience working inside an operation theatre followed by years in a supervisory role.
Core Duties
Staff Management: Make duty rosters, assign scrub and circulating nurses, and monitor team performance.
Infection Control: Ensure sterilization protocols, clean environments, and secure biomedical waste disposal are strictly followed.
Resource and Equipment Care: Oversee surgical instrument inventory, equipment maintenance, and medical supply stocks.
Administrative Coordination: Work with surgeons, anesthetists, and hospital administration to ensure smooth daily operations.
Training: Guide and mentor junior nurses and orient recent staff to OT procedures.
