Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee and manage

day-to-day production operations in our plastic manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible

for achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, optimizing manpower and machine

utilization, reducing production losses, and ensuring smooth and efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in plastic manufacturing processes,

production planning, machine operations, manpower management, quality control, and process

improvement.

Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

 Plan, schedule and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production activities.

 Ensure production targets are achieved within defined timelines and quality standards.

 Monitor production processes and ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower and

raw materials.

 Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Purchase, Quality and Maintenance teams for

uninterrupted production.

 Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and operational issues.

Plastic Manufacturing Operations

 Manage end-to-end manufacturing processes related to plastic products.

 Ensure proper machine setup, process parameters and operating standards are followed.

 Monitor machine performance, cycle time, rejection levels and production efficiency.

 Ensure adherence to approved SOPs, process sheets and work instructions.

 Implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce wastage.

Quality & Process Control

 Ensure products are manufactured as per defined quality specifications.





 Monitor rejection, rework, defects and production losses.

 Work closely with the Quality team to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

 Maintain consistent product quality through effective process control.

 Ensure compliance with GMP, safety and other applicable manufacturing standards.

Manpower Management

 Manage and supervise production operators, technicians and contract workers.

 Plan manpower deployment based on production requirements.

 Monitor attendance, productivity and performance of production staff.

 Train team members on production processes, safety procedures and quality requirements.

 Build a disciplined, productive and accountable production team.

Machine & Maintenance Coordination

 Coordinate with the Maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

 Minimize machine downtime and ensure maximum machine availability.

 Escalate recurring machine/process issues and support root-cause analysis.

 Ensure proper handling and operation of production equipment.

Inventory & Material Management

 Monitor consumption of raw materials and packaging materials.

 Minimize material wastage, process loss and scrap.

 Coordinate with Stores to ensure timely availability of required materials.

 Monitor production yield and material variance.

MIS & Reporting

 Prepare and review daily production reports and productivity MIS.

 Track key production KPIs such as:

o Production output

o Machine utilization

o Production efficiency

o Rejection & rework

o Scrap/wastage

o Downtime

o Yield

o Manpower productivity





 Analyse production data and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Safety & Compliance

 Ensure compliance with plant safety policies and statutory requirements.

 Promote safe working practices across the production floor.

 Conduct regular checks to identify and eliminate workplace hazards.

 Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures.

Preferred Candidate Profile

 8–12 years of relevant experience in plastic manufacturing/production.

 Hands-on experience managing a production team and manufacturing plant operations.

 Candidates from plastic products, packaging, injection moulding, blow moulding or similar

manufacturing environments will be preferred.

 Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities.

 Comfortable working in a factory/plant environment.
