Location-Savera Cancer & Multispeciality Hospital, Patna, Bihar

Department: Nuclear Medicine
Reporting To: Head of Department / Nuclear Medicine Physician

Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging equipment, ensuring radiation safety, and providing quality patient care in accordance with established protocols and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by Nuclear Medicine Physicians.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as PET-CT, SPECT, Gamma Camera, and other nuclear medicine studies.
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain examination processes.
- Monitor patients during and after procedures for any adverse reactions.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate, maintain, and perform quality control checks on nuclear medicine equipment.
- Follow radiation safety guidelines and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate patient records, procedure documentation, and imaging data.
- Assist physicians during therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures.
- Manage radioactive materials, storage, disposal, and inventory as per statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with radiologists, oncologists,



physicists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ensure infection control practices and patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and accreditation activities.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Registration with the appropriate regulatory authority, if applicable.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine/PET-CT operations (preferred).
- Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation protection principles.
- Familiarity with PET-CT, SPECT, Gamma Camera, and related imaging systems.

Required Skills

- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of radiation safety regulations.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.

Working Conditions

- Work in a radiation-controlled workplace.
- May require shift duties, weekend, and emergency coverage as per departmental requirements.
- Must comply with all hospital safety, radiation protection, and infection control policies.

Other Duties: Perform any other duties assigned by the Management or Head of Department from time to time.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
