Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Substation to support the detailed engineering of KAHRAMAA transmission projects in Qatar.

The candidate will be responsible for substation electrical design, calculations, drawings, OEM document review, technical coordination and resolution of Consultant/Client comments.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare SLDs, KSLDs, GA drawings, equipment layouts, cable schedules, earthing and lightning protection layouts.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, CT/VT sizing, cable sizing, earthing, touch & step voltage, DC/AC auxiliary and related electrical calculations.
- Design/review 400/220/132/66/11 kV substation systems.
- Review OEM drawings and technical documents for compliance with KAHRAMAA specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, site, OEMs and project teams.
- Address Consultant and KAHRAMAA comments and support submissions through approval.




- Participate in technical meetings, workshops and interface coordination.

Mandatory Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of post-graduation experience in substation electrical design.
- Minimum 5 years of GCC project experience.
- Proven experience in at least one complete GCC substation project as Designer or Design Lead.
- Experience with KAHRAMAA or equivalent GCC utilities is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IEC / IEEE and applicable utility standards.
- Excellent technical communication and report/documentation skills.

Software Skills

Mandatory: AutoCAD, ETAP or DIgSILENT PowerFactory, CDEGS or ETAP GroundMat, MS Office.

Preferred: Primavera P6, AVEVA E3D/SPEL, Bentley Substation or Revit MEP.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in KAHRAMAA, DEWA, TRANSCO/ADDC, SEC, MEW Kuwait, OETC or EWA projects will be given preference.
