Finance Manager for role - Client
Position OverviewThe Client Finance Manager will be responsible for managing financial operations and client relationships for assigned portfolio(s), ensuring accurate financial reporting, billing, and analysis while maintaining exceptional client service standards. This is primarily an individual contributor role with one direct report, requiring robust client-facing skills and the ability to lead financial planning and review processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & Reporting Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes for assigned clients. Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, client requirements, and internal policies. Monitor budget performance and provide strategic recommendations to optimize financial outcomes.
Client Budget Management Lead the annual budget development process for assigned clients, collaborating with operations teams and client stakeholders to create comprehensive financial plans. Analyze historical performance and market trends to develop accurate budget forecasts. Present budget proposals and obtain client approval. Track budget performance throughout the year and recommend adjustments as needed.
Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews Prepare and lead Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) with internal stakeholders, reviewing financial performance, key metrics, and operational insights. Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with clients, presenting financial results, variance explanations, budget tracking, and strategic recommendations.



Develop executive-level presentations that clearly communicate financial performance and business drivers.
Client Relationship Management Serve as primary financial point of contact for assigned clients, building strong relationships through proactive communication and responsive service. Present financial results and insights to client stakeholders during scheduled reviews and ad-hoc meetings. Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Anticipate client needs and provide value-added financial analysis.
Billing & Collections Manage end-to-end billing processes including invoice preparation, approval workflows, and timely distribution. Monitor accounts receivable aging and coordinate collection activities. Ensure billing accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
Team Leadership Supervise one direct report, providing guidance on daily accounting tasks and client service delivery. Conduct performance evaluations and support professional development. Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for team deliverables.
Process Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting capabilities. Implement best practices and standardized procedures across client portfolios. Leverage technology and automation to improve efficiency in budget management, MBR/QBR preparation, and financial reporting.
Required QualificationsEducation & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5-7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience with demonstrated expertise in budget management and client-facing financial presentations. Experience leading business reviews and presenting to senior client stakeholders. Real estate or property management industry experience strongly preferred.
Technical Skills Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and executive presentations. Experience with financial systems (JD Edwards, or similar ERP systems preferred).



Ability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.
Professional Competencies Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to interact confidently with clients and senior management. Strong business acumen with ability to connect financial results to operational drivers. Proven ability to manage multiple client portfolios and competing priorities simultaneously. Self-motivated individual contributor who can work independently while collaborating effectively across teams. Experience facilitating structured business review processes (MBRs, QBRs).
