Job Summary

We are looking for a trained and responsible OT Technician / OT Assistant to support surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and the OT team in maintaining safe and efficient operation theatre activities.

The candidate should have knowledge of OT preparation, surgical instrument handling, Scrub duties, Anaesthesia assistance, sterilization, infection control, and post-operative OT procedures.

Key ResponsibilitiesOT & Scrub Duties

- Prepare the OT before scheduled surgeries and procedures.
- Arrange surgical instruments, sutures, consumables, implants, and required OT supplies.
- Assist the surgical team as a Scrub Assistant during procedures.
- Pass instruments and required materials to the surgeon as directed.
- Maintain proper counting of instruments, needles, gauze, and other surgical items.
- Maintain aseptic and sterile conditions inside the OT.
- Assist with patient positioning and secure transfer as directed by the clinical team.
- Ensure OT equipment and supplies are ready before surgery.

Anaesthesia Assistance

- Assist the Anaesthetist before, during, and after procedures.
- Prepare the anaesthesia workstation and required equipment.
- Check oxygen, suction, circuits, masks, airway devices, and other anaesthesia equipment.




- Keep monitoring equipment and anaesthesia consumables ready.
- Assist with cleaning, disinfection, and proper storage of anaesthesia equipment.
- Immediately report equipment issues or shortage of supplies.

Sterilization & OT Maintenance

- Assist with cleaning, decontamination, packing, and sterilization of instruments.
- Handle sterilization equipment only after proper training and as per hospital protocol.
- Prepare sterile instrument sets for surgeries.
- Follow infection-control and biomedical-waste management protocols.
- Ensure proper cleaning and preparation of the OT after every procedure.
- Maintain OT records, checklists, and required documentation.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of surgical instruments and OT procedures.
- Knowledge of Scrub duties and Anaesthesia assistance.
- Basic knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control.
- Good instrument handling and sterilization knowledge.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Ability to remain calm during emergency situations.
- Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and attentive.
- Willingness to work in rotational/emergency shifts.

Qualification

- Diploma/B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Candidates with relevant OT training and practical experience may also be considered.
- Freshers with relevant qualification and practical training can apply.
