HR Manager / HR Generalist

Jaydurga Furnishings Pvt. Ltd. is a growing furnishings and home décor business with multiple retail locations in Hyderabad. We are looking for an experienced, proactive HR professional who can take ownership of our people operations and help build a strong, accountable and performance-driven organisation.
Role Overview
The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the complete employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, employee engagement, training, policies and exits.
The ideal candidate should be hands-on, organised, people-oriented and strong at execution, with the ability to work closely with management and employees across multiple stores and departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Hiring
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for retail, sales, operations, management and support roles.
- Create job descriptions and identify suitable candidates through job portals, consultants, referrals and other channels.
- Conduct initial screening and coordinate interviews with management.
- Maintain a strong candidate pipeline for recurring positions.
- Ensure timely joining and proper onboarding of new employees.
2. Employee Management
- Maintain accurate employee records, attendance and leave data.
- Handle employee queries and day-to-day HR matters.
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle, including onboarding, transfers, promotions and exits.
- Ensure clear communication of company policies and expectations.
3. Performance Management
- Help establish KRAs/KPIs and performance review systems for different roles.
- Track employee performance and work with managers to address performance gaps.
- Develop systems for recognition, incentives and employee accountability.
- Coordinate periodic performance reviews.
4. HR Policies & SOPs
- Develop, document and implement HR policies and processes.
- Create SOPs for recruitment, onboarding, attendance, leave, performance management, disciplinary procedures and employee exits.
- Ensure HR processes are consistently followed across locations.
- Identify gaps in existing people processes and recommend improvements.
5. Training & Development
- Identify training requirements across sales, customer service, management and operations teams.
- Coordinate employee training and development programs.
- Help build a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
6. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Improve employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Organise employee activities, recognition programs and team initiatives.
- Act as a bridge between management and employees.
- Address employee concerns professionally and confidentially.
7. Payroll & Compliance
- Coordinate monthly payroll inputs including attendance, leave, incentives and deductions.
- Work with accounts/payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely salary processing.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour and employment regulations.
- Maintain required HR documentation and records.
8. HR Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare regular HR reports for management covering:
- Headcount
- Hiring and attrition
- Attendance
- Employee performance
- Leave
- Recruitment pipeline
- Employee costs
- Use HR data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
What We Are Looking For
- 3–7 years of relevant HR experience.
- Experience handling end-to-end HR operations.
- Strong recruitment and people-management skills.
- Good understanding of HR policies, performance management and employee engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business environment.
- Should be proactive and capable of independently taking ownership of HR functions.
- Experience in retail, sales, multi-location or family-owned businesses will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and HR software is preferred.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who doesn't simply "manage HR paperwork", but someone who can build the HR function, introduce systems, improve employee performance and create a professional work culture.
The person should be comfortable working closely with the management team and taking initiative rather than waiting for instructions.
