Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Manager to manage and oversee the hospital's complete pharmacy operations, including IP, OP, OT, and Implant Pharmacy.

The role involves ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, uninterrupted availability of medicines and consumables, effective inventory control, regulatory compliance, accurate billing and reconciliation, cost control, and efficient coordination with doctors, nursing, OT, purchase, stores, accounts, and other hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pharmacy Operations – IP & OP

- Manage day-to-day IP and OP pharmacy operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate dispensing of medicines and consumables against prescriptions.
- Monitor prescription processing, billing, returns, substitutions, and stock availability.
- Ensure proper handling of high-value, critical, and high-alert medicines.
- Minimize dispensing and medication-related errors.
- Coordinate effectively with doctors, nursing, billing, and other departments.

2. OT Pharmacy Management

- Ensure timely availability of medicines, surgical consumables, and pharmacy items required for OT procedures.
- Maintain appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels for OT.
- Monitor consumption, issues, and returns of medicines and consumables.
- Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of OT stocks.
- Respond efficiently to scheduled and emergency OT requirements.

3. Implant Management

- Manage the complete implant lifecycle, including requirement planning, receipt, storage, issue, usage, billing, returns, and reconciliation.
- Maintain accurate implant inventory and documentation.
- Coordinate with doctors, OT, purchase, stores, accounts, and vendors.
- Ensure availability of required implants for scheduled procedures.
- Monitor high-value implants and control excess or unnecessary inventory.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of unused and returned implants.

4. Inventory & Stock Control

- Monitor inventory across IP, OP, OT, and Implant Pharmacy.
- Maintain optimum stock levels and ensure uninterrupted availability of essential medicines and consumables.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Monitor expiry, near-expiry, slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete stock.
- Ensure strict adherence to FEFO (First Expiry, First Out)



practices.
- Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions.
- Minimize expiry losses, stock losses, and inventory discrepancies.

5. Purchase & Vendor Coordination

- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores teams for timely procurement.
- Review stock requirements and prepare purchase/reorder requests.
- Coordinate with approved vendors regarding availability, pricing, delivery, and replacements.
- Verify that received medicines and materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor vendor performance and delivery timelines.

6. Regulatory Compliance & Audit

- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with applicable statutory requirements, Pharmacy Act, Drugs & Cosmetics regulations, and hospital policies.
- Maintain required records for controlled, restricted, and high-alert medicines, as applicable.
- Ensure pharmacy licenses and statutory documentation are valid and up to date.
- Support internal and external audits and inspections.
- Ensure appropriate storage conditions, temperature monitoring, and security of medicines.

7. Team Management

- Supervise pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and supporting pharmacy staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower coverage.
- Monitor attendance, performance, discipline, and productivity.
- Conduct regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Ensure adherence to hospital SOPs and pharmacy procedures.

8. Billing & Revenue Coordination

- Ensure accurate billing of medicines, consumables, and implants.
- Coordinate with Billing and Accounts teams to resolve pharmacy-related billing issues.
- Monitor cash, credit, insurance, and corporate patient pharmacy processes, as applicable.
- Ensure reconciliation of pharmacy issues, patient billing, and stock consumption.
- Identify and minimize billing leakages and revenue losses.

9. MIS & Management Reporting

- Prepare and submit regular pharmacy reports to management.
- Monitor daily and monthly sales and consumption across IP, OP, OT, and Implant Pharmacy.
- Prepare reports covering stock value, expiry, purchases, consumption, and inventory variance.




- Track pharmacy KPIs and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide recommendations for cost optimization and operational improvement.

10. Quality & Patient Safety

- Ensure medicines are stored, handled, and dispensed safely.
- Monitor medication errors, near misses, and pharmacy-related complaints.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions wherever required.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage standards across pharmacy areas.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations.
- Hands-on experience in IP, OP, OT, and Implant Pharmacy management.
- Strong inventory and stock control skills.
- Knowledge of pharmacy billing and reconciliation.
- Positive knowledge of medicines, surgical consumables, and implants.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Good vendor and interdepartmental coordination skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Hospital Management System (HMS) / Pharmacy Software.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency requirements.

Qualification & Experience:

- B.Pharm / M.Pharm or equivalent qualification.
- Valid registration with the applicable State Pharmacy Council.
- 4–5 years of relevant hospital pharmacy experience.
- Candidates should preferably have hands-on experience managing IP, OP, OT, and Implant Pharmacy operations.

Preferred Experience:

Candidates with experience in a multispecialty hospital and hands-on exposure to the following will be preferred:

Pay: ₹420,000.00 - ₹480,000.00 per year
