Key Responsibilities:

o Conduct visual acuity screening and basic eye examinations for beneficiaries at MMU outreach locations.

o Perform objective and subjective refraction and identify common refractive errors.

o Screen for cataract and other common eye conditions, identify and refer beneficiaries requiring further ophthalmic assessment and care.

o Recommend/prescribe appropriate spectacles within the scope of qualification and applicable guidelines.

o Provide vision counselling, including advice on eye care, spectacle use and preventive practices.

o Maintain accurate records of vision screening, findings, spectacle prescriptions and referrals in the EMR/digital health system.

o Refer beneficiaries with suspected cataract, eye disease, poor vision or other conditions requiring specialist care to appropriate ophthalmologist/eye-care facilities.





o Coordinate with the Medical Officer, Paramedic and Community Health Worker for beneficiary assessment, referrals and follow-up.

· Minimum Educational Qualification:B.Optom / B.Sc. Optometry / Diploma in Optometry or equivalent recognised qualification, as applicable to the position and state requirements.

· Work Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience preferred; experience in community eye screening, refraction, optical services or outreach/mobile healthcare programmes desirable.

· Key Skills: Visual acuity assessment, refraction, basic eye examination, cataract screening, spectacle prescription, patient counselling, EMR/digital data entry, referral coordination and beneficiary interaction.

· Language: Conversant in the local/regional language of the target beneficiary population and able to communicate effectively during screening and counselling.

· Deployment: Based on the Mobile Medical Unit remote screening locations, support outreach camps and community-level eye screening activities.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
