Mechatronics Engineer Intern – Medical Devices

Role Overview
We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer Intern to support the development of medical-device prototypes.
The role will primarily involve CAD modelling and mechanical enclosure development, along with integration of PCBs, sensors, displays, switches, wiring, and other electronic components into functional prototypes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design 3D enclosures, brackets, mounts, and assemblies for medical-device prototypes.
- Plan component placement for PCBs, sensors, displays, connectors, batteries, switches, and wiring.
- Create basic 2D drawings and assembly drawings for fabrication.
- Prepare designs for 3D printing and rapid prototyping.
- Assemble prototypes and modify designs based on testing and fitment issues.
- Support integration of sensors, electronics, microcontrollers, and actuators.
- Assist with basic hardware testing, wiring, troubleshooting, and prototype validation.
- Maintain CAD files, revisions, BOMs, and basic technical documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, or similar CAD software.
- Ability to create parts, assemblies, enclosures, and engineering drawings.
- Basic understanding of dimensions, tolerances, clearances, fasteners, and manufacturing methods.
- Familiarity with 3D printing or prototype fabrication.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, sensors, motors, and embedded systems.
- Exposure to ESP32, Arduino, STM32, or similar microcontrollers is an advantage.
- Basic C/C++ or Python knowledge is desirable.
- PCB or circuit-design knowledge is an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Robotics & Automation
- Electronics Engineering
- or a related field
- Freshers and students are encouraged to apply.
- Academic or personal projects involving CAD, enclosures, robotics, electronics integration, or prototype development are preferred.
- Hands-on problem-solving and willingness to work with physical prototypes are significant.
