About the Role

Mighty Machines is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Planning Engineer to support production and project planning activities. The candidate will be responsible for preparing production schedules, monitoring project progress, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring timely completion of manufacturing and engineering activities.

The ideal candidate should have strong planning, coordination, and analytical skills, along with a good understanding of manufacturing processes, project execution, and resource management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Project Planning

- Prepare detailed production and project schedules based on customer requirements and delivery timelines.
- Develop work plans, activity sequences, and execution schedules.
- Plan manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources required for production.
- Coordinate with production, purchase, stores, quality, and engineering teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Monitor daily production progress against planned schedules.

2. Schedule Monitoring & Control

- Track project milestones, production targets, and delivery commitments.
- Identify delays, bottlenecks, and resource constraints.
- Prepare recovery plans and coordinate corrective actions to bring activities back on schedule.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Update planning trackers and communicate status to management.

Material & Resource Coordination

- Coordinate with the purchase and stores teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and consumables.
- Monitor material requirements against production schedules.
- Highlight shortages, pending purchases, and potential material-related delays.
- Support efficient utilization of manpower, machines, and production capacity.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with production, design, procurement, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Conduct planning review meetings and follow up on pending activities.
- Ensure proper communication of priorities and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, where required.

5. Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare and maintain production plans, project schedules, and progress trackers.
- Generate MIS reports related to production, project progress, and delivery performance.
- Maintain records of planned vs. actual progress.
- Support management in identifying productivity and process improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in production planning, project planning,



or manufacturing operations.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and planning/reporting tools.
- Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems is an added advantage.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings is preferred.
- Strong coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
