:

· Daily Checking of waste segregation.

· Secure practice for sharps handling and disposal.

· Adherence to hand hygiene guidelines.

· Use of appropriate personal protective apparel.

· ICN undertakes a daily ward round of all units& maintains the weekly round report of all units.

· ICN acts as an educational resource for staff nurses and supporting staff.

· Weekly class [1 class is taken for each unit]. & Record maintained.

· Monthly classes are taken for ward boys and house keeping staff.

· ICN maintains a record of environmental surveillance cultures.

· ICN maintain a record of status of admitted patient, Noso-comial infection surveillance & prepares a monthly report of infection control and arrange for monthly/ emergency meeting of infection control committee along with the Infection Control Officer/ consultant microbiologist.

· ICN maintains a record of needle stick injury and appropriate post exposure prophylaxis of all health care workers.

· ICN maintains a record of Hepatitis ‘B’ vaccine for health care worker.

ICN maintains a record of Notifiable disease
