Operating across global financial markets. This is an opportunity for a senior database professional to work on high-performance trading applications and large-scale research platforms in a highly technical financial services workplace.
Domain: Quantitative Investment Management / Financial Markets
Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement highly performant, scalable database solutions for trading applications (performance focus) and research platforms (scale focus)
- Manage and monitor database environments, troubleshoot complex database issues, implement proactive improvements and perform advanced database performance tuning and optimization across multiple platforms
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies ensuring data integrity and business continuity
- Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Document database designs, processes, procedures, and architectural decisions
Required Technical Qualification, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience as a Database Engineer/Administrator managing enterprise-level database environments
- Database migration and ETL process expertise
- Experience developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies
- Database deployment, upgrade, patching and configuration automation
- Deep understanding of High Availability (HA) solutions,
data modelling and design principles
- Database security implementation and best practices
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Outstanding skills and ability communicate complex technical information to diverse audience
- Experience supporting parallel projects in fast-paced, collaborative environments
