Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Fabricator to carry out structural fabrication and erection activities for shipbuilding and ship repair projects. The candidate should have positive knowledge of reading fabrication drawings and be capable of performing accurate cutting, fit-up, alignment, and fabrication work as per project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out fabrication of ship structures, plates, stiffeners, brackets, foundations, supports, and other structural components.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, structural drawings, and basic measurements.
- Perform marking, cutting, grinding, fit-up, alignment, and tack welding as required.
- Ensure proper dimensions, levels, angles, and alignment of fabricated components.
- Carry out onboard fabrication and structural modification works during ship repair.
- Work with structural steel, plates, angles, channels, flats, and other materials.
- Coordinate with Welders, Fitters, Foremen, Supervisors, and QC personnel.
- Follow approved drawings, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Check fabricated structures before handing them over for welding/inspection.
- Identify dimensional or fit-up issues and report them to the supervisor.




- Maintain proper housekeeping and safe working practices at the worksite.
- Use fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of ship structural fabrication and fit-up.
- Ability to read and understand fabrication/structural drawings.
- Knowledge of plate cutting, marking, bending, fit-up, and alignment.
- Familiarity with welding processes and welding symbols is an advantage.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as measuring tape, steel rule, square, level, and vernier.
- Good understanding of workplace safety and PPE requirements.
- Ability to work at height, in confined spaces, and onboard vessels when required.
- Physically fit and capable of working in demanding shipyard conditions.

Qualification

- ITI / NCVT / SCVT in Fitter, Welder, Fabricator, or related trade preferred.
- Relevant practical experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualification.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
