About the Role

This is not a role for a narrow WordPress developer or a pure digital marketer. We need a hands-on technical specialist who can sit across CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Duda), front-end code, hosting/servers, analytics, tracking, and marketing-technology tools — diagnose problems independently, and drive them to resolution without needing to be walked through each step.

This person will be the technical point of contact when something breaks across the website and marketing-technology stack — whether that's a plugin conflict taking a site down, a tracking pixel that stopped firing, a PHP compatibility error, or a server/DNS issue. The role requires finding the root cause and fixing it, not just flagging it.

Key Responsibilities

- End-to-end health of live websites — primarily WordPress, but also Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, or Duda where used — including core, plugin, and theme updates, and everything that breaks because of them.
- Diagnosing and resolving plugin/theme conflicts, PHP compatibility issues, and general site errors.
- Hosting and server administration across AWS and GoDaddy — DNS, SSL, backups, uptime, and basic server troubleshooting.
- Website forms, email notifications, and lead-submission flows — keeping them working end to end.
- Analytics and tracking infrastructure: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and PPC conversion tracking.
- Google Search Console health, and structured data / business schema accuracy.
- Google Cloud Console configurations and integrations tied to the website stack.
- Google reCAPTCHA setup and troubleshooting.

- Post-update QA — testing site functionality after every technical change before it's considered done.
- Ongoing monitoring of website performance, security, and uptime.
- Acting as the technical bridge between SEO, PPC, marketing, and development teams — translating issues into fixes.
- Clear documentation of technical changes, root causes, and fixes for future reference.

Typical Technical Challenges

This role requires the ability to take full ownership of issues such as:

- A WordPress site breaking after a plugin or theme update
- PHP compatibility errors after a version change
- Unexplained website or server downtime
- Form submissions silently failing
- reCAPTCHA blocking legitimate users
- GA4 tracking gaps or discrepancies
- GTM tags that stop firing
- Meta Pixel not registering conversions
- PPC conversion tracking mismatches
- Google Search Console errors and crawl issues
- Schema/structured-data validation errors
- DNS, SSL, or hosting misconfigurations
- AWS or GoDaddy server-side issues

Skills & Qualifications

- WordPress — core, plugin, and theme management
- CMS platforms: working knowledge of WordPress, Duda, Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, and Webflow
- PHP
- Front-end development: strong hands-on knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Node.js and React — able to read, debug, and make changes to existing code,

not just configure a CMS
- AI tools: comfortable using AI agents/assistants (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to speed up troubleshooting, debugging, and day-to-day technical work
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM)
- Meta Pixel and conversion tracking
- Google Search Console

Additional Requirements

- 2–5 years of hands-on experience managing live, production websites (WordPress and other CMS platforms).
- Independence: ability to take a problem, investigate it, and resolve it without requiring a written spec for every task.
- A generalist technical mindset that spans development, hosting, and marketing technology — not a specialist in just one lane.
- Comfort working directly with SEO, PPC, and marketing stakeholders to translate business issues into technical fixes.
- Any graduate/diploma in Computer Science, IT, Web Development, Digital Marketing, or a related field — relevant hands-on experience matters more than the degree.
