Pre-Primary Teacher

Role Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Pre-Primary Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young children. This role involves planning and delivering curriculum-aligned learning experiences, supporting children's holistic development, maintaining effective communication with parents, ensuring classroom safety and hygiene, and collaborating with colleagues to provide high-quality early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Planning & Learning Delivery

- Plan, prepare, and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities aligned with the curriculum.
- Deliver engaging, creative, and enriching learning sessions that promote holistic child development.
- Prepare lesson plans, activities, and learning resources in advance.
- Adapt teaching strategies and learning experiences based on children's developmental needs, abilities, and interests.
- Organize a balanced daily routine including active play, structured learning, meals, rest periods, and quiet time.
- Encourage active participation, exploration, creativity, and problem-solving through play-based learning.

Child Care, Supervision & Wellbeing
- Provide a safe, caring, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environment.
- Supervise children during all activities, including classroom, outdoor play, meals, rest, events, and excursions.
- Support children's adjustment, learning, socialization, and relationship building.
- Assist children with personal care needs as required.
- Guide children in following routines, managing transitions, and developing positive behavior.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and administer basic first aid when necessary.
- Engage actively with children through play and meaningful interactions.

Child Observation, Assessment & Documentation
- Observe, assess, and monitor children's developmental progress, behavior, and learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, observations,



and assessment documentation for each child.
- Identify developmental concerns or behavioral issues and communicate them to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Track developmental milestones and contribute to individualized support strategies.

Parent Communication & Family Engagement
- Build positive relationships with parents and families.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress, achievements, daily activities, and areas of concern.
- Serve as a point of contact for parents, responding professionally to their queries and feedback.
- Participate in parent meetings regarding child development and wellbeing.

Classroom Management & Learning Environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, hygienic, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Create engaging classroom displays, learning corners, and educational resources.
- Ensure effective utilization of classroom resources and minimize wastage.
- Support daily classroom operations and administrative tasks.

Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure the safety, health, hygiene, security, and wellbeing of all children at all times.
- Follow and uphold all school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of child protection, health, and safety standards.
- Report concerns, incidents, or risks promptly to the School Head/Centre Head.

Team Collaboration & Leadership Support
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, assistant teachers, support staff, and school leadership.
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to assistant teachers and support staff as required.




- Support colleagues in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.

Events & School Activities
- Contribute to the planning and execution of school events, celebrations, field trips, and special programs.
- Support activities outlined in the school's annual events calendar.
- Encourage child participation and engagement during school-wide activities.

Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and qualified learning opportunities.
- Stay updated on early childhood education practices, child development principles, and effective teaching methodologies.
- Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

We are looking for candidates with the following:

- In-depth knowledge of child growth, development, and early childhood education practices.
- Proven ability to create engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Excellent classroom management and positive behavior guidance skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong observation, assessment, and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Awareness of health, safety, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
- Creativity, patience, empathy, and passion for working with young children.
- Familiarity with school administration and record-keeping processes.
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and a solution-oriented approach in a dynamic learning environment.

Reporting Relationship

Reports To: School Head / Centre Head / Lead Teacher

Other Duties

Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the School Head, Centre Head, or Management in support of children's learning, wellbeing, and the overall objectives of the school.
