About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and experienced Gym & Yoga Instructor to take ownership of fitness and wellness activities for our student community.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about fitness and comfortable working with young adults in a high-energy campus environment. They will be responsible for conducting engaging fitness sessions, guiding students on exercise and wellness, and helping build a consistent culture of health and well-being on campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular gym, strength & conditioning, functional fitness, mobility, and/or yoga sessions for students.
- Design structured workout and wellness programs based on varying fitness levels.
- Conduct group fitness classes as well as basic one-on-one guidance where required.
- Guide students on proper exercise techniques, form, warm-ups, cool-downs, and injury prevention.
- For yoga-focused sessions, conduct practices covering flexibility, mobility, breathing, mindfulness, and stress management.
- Create engaging fitness challenges, wellness activities, and campus initiatives to drive student participation.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organised fitness setting.
- Monitor student participation and provide appropriate feedback and guidance.
- Ensure fitness equipment is used safely and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Collaborate with the Student Experience/Life team to integrate fitness and wellness into the overall student experience.
- Stay updated on current fitness, wellness, and training practices.
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of relevant experience as a Gym Trainer, Fitness Instructor, Yoga Instructor, Strength & Conditioning Coach, or similar role.
- Relevant certification in Fitness Training, Personal Training, Yoga, Sports Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of exercise techniques, mobility, conditioning, and basic injury prevention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with beginners as well as students with intermediate fitness levels.
- Energetic, approachable, disciplined, and comfortable engaging with a young student community.
- Strong interest in building a fitness-first and wellness-oriented campus culture.
Good to Have
- Experience working with college students, young adults, residential campuses, or premium fitness/wellness facilities.
- Certification from recognised fitness or yoga bodies.
- Experience conducting group classes and fitness events.
- Knowledge of sports conditioning, nutrition, or wellness programming.
- Ability to offer both gym/functional fitness and yoga/mobility sessions.

Note: This role can be structured as either a Gym Instructor, Yoga Instructor, or a combined Gym & Yoga Instructor, depending on the candidate's area of expertise.
