Position Summary
Deputy Medical Superintendent is one of the senior clinical leader within Lifebridge Group, overseeing the quality, safety, and effectiveness of medical services across all units including KITES Senior Care, Serene Communities, and Serene Shield. This role combines clinical oversight, operational leadership, quality improvement, and people management. The GCMS ensures medical excellence, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and a culture of compassionate, elder-first care aligned with Lifebridge Groups vision and values.
Core Responsibilities
1. Clinical Leadership
- Provide vision, guidance, and mentorship to CMOs and medical teams across all units.
- Establish and uphold best practices in diagnostics, geriatric care, and rehabilitation.
- Ensure consistent clinical protocols and SOPs across all locations.
- Regularly visit care centers to assess adherence to clinical policies and standards.
2. Medical Operations Oversight
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day functioning of medical staff including physicians, therapists, and clinical support teams.
- Collaborate with facility heads to ensure secure, responsive, and high-quality medical care.
- Approve and monitor medical rosters, clinical escalations, and staffing adequacy.
3. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Drive implementation of clinical quality standards and patient safety protocols.
- Lead medical audits, infection control practices, morbidity/mortality reviews, and clinical documentation quality.
- Ensure full compliance with medical regulations, licenses, and accreditations.
4. Emergency Preparedness
- Guide units in disaster management planning, including outbreak response, pandemic preparedness, and medical evacuation protocols.
- Support centers in developing emergency response teams and drills.
5. Clinical Training & Development
- Promote continuous medical education and skill-building for all clinical staff.
- Design and oversee induction, CME,BLS, and ACLS training programs.
- Foster a culture of research, academic excellence, and evidence-based practice.
6. Research & Knowledge Advancement
- Encourage practice-based research, data analytics, and case reporting.
- Build partnerships with academic institutions for training and research collaboration.
7. Clinical Governance & Strategic Input
- Contribute to organizational strategy by identifying clinical service gaps and future health trends.
- Partner with management in expanding medical services and specialties based on community needs.
8. Patient Experience & Family Support
- Ensure that medical teams are trained to provide dignified, compassionate, and elder-sensitive care.
- Intervene in high-risk or escalated patient matters with empathy and professionalism.
- Promote systems for effective communication with families and caregivers.
9. Technology Enablement
- Work with digital health and IT teams to implement EMR, telemedicine, and clinical dashboards.
- Champion technology adoption that enhances clinical accuracy, reporting, and outcomes.
10. People Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and build the capabilities of CMOs and other medical leaders.
- Foster a high-trust, learning-oriented clinical environment.
- Drive recruitment, talent development, and succession planning for clinical roles.
Work Complexities
- Balancing strategic medical leadership with clinical operational oversight across multiple cities
- Managing diverse clinical teams with varying skill levels, specialties, and workloads
- Responding swiftly to medical escalations, audits, or compliance issues
- Ensuring consistent care delivery amidst geographical and cultural differences
- Engaging with patients, regulators and professionals with empathy and precision
- Managing medical staffing gaps, emergencies, and burnout risks in clinical teams.
Knowledge and Experience
1. MBBS with MHA/MD/DNB or equivalent specialization in Geriatrics/Internal Medicine preferred
2. 10+ years of medical leadership experience, with at least 2 in a multisite or corporate healthcare role
3. Proven track record in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and staff mentoring
4. Familiarity with NABH/NABL,eldercare protocols, and chronic disease management
5. Exposure to multi-disciplinary clinical settings including rehabilitation and palliative care
6. Strong written and verbal communication; ability to engage diverse stakeholders
