Job Description – Lead R&D; SEI

Position: Lead R&D; SEI
Department / Organization: R&D; SEI / R&D; EMEAI
Reporting To: Director – Global R&D;
Deputy: As per team organization

Education

- Master’s Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
- Additional technical qualifications will be an added advantage.

Experience & Expertise

- 15+ years of experience in Product Development / R&D.;
- Expert knowledge of electro-mechanical components.
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience in managing technical/R&D; teams.
- Strong experience in product development, product improvement, engineering changes, and industrialization.

- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Analytical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Good command of English communication.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global R&D; and cross-functional teams.

Key Job Functions

Key Objectives:

- Build and establish the R&D; organization at SEI.
- Contribute positively to the overall product lifecycle.
- Establish and develop technical ownership within the organization.
- Lead and contribute to new product development, product changes, and industrialization.
- Develop a mature and autonomous engineering team aligned with global R&D; and HQ.

Major Responsibilities

- Build, lead, and develop the engineering/R&D; team.
- Ensure effective knowledge transfer, technical development, and capability building.
- Sustain, improve,



and expand defined product groups, with a focus on local production lines.
- Lead projects related to product improvements and portfolio extensions.
- Identify areas for improvement and continuously enhance engineering processes and working procedures.
- Support Sales in developing and winning customer-specific development projects.
- Drive collaboration and alignment between local R&D; and global/HQ engineering teams.
- Ensure harmonized processes, standards, and ways of working across the R&D; organization.

Key Inputs

- Customer requirements, inquiries, complaints, and claims.
- Roadmaps for optimization and improvement projects.
- Operational change requests related to sourcing, transfers, obsolescence, cost reduction, approvals, and technical data.
- Roadmap for New Product Introduction (NPI).

Key Outputs

- Customized product configurations and variants.
- Robust and sustainable product groups.
- Continuously improved products and processes.
- Standard portfolio extensions.
- Mature and autonomous engineering team aligned and networked with HQ.
- Harmonized engineering processes and ways of working.

Key Performance Indicators (Annual Review)

- Service Quality: Response time, First-Time-Right, and data consistency.
- Project KPIs: Timely and successful project execution.
- NBO Hit Rate: Contribution to successful Recent Business Opportunities.
