Job Description: Consultant – Paediatric Medicine

Job Title: Consultant – Paediatric Medicine

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct outpatient consultations and inpatient rounds for paediatric patients.

- Diagnose and manage common and complex paediatric medical conditions.

- Provide comprehensive care for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents as per the hospital's scope of services.

- Assess and manage paediatric emergencies and critically ill children.

- Coordinate with the NICU/PICU and other specialties when required.

- Interpret laboratory investigations, imaging, and other diagnostic reports.

- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.





- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans appropriately.

- Counsel parents/guardians regarding diagnosis, treatment, nutrition, vaccination, and preventive healthcare.

- Maintain accurate medical records, clinical notes, discharge summaries, and other documentation.

- Ensure compliance with hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices, and patient-safety standards.

- Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, audits, and quality-improvement initiatives.

- Support teaching and training of residents, interns, and nursing/paramedical staff.

- Promote evidence-based and ethical paediatric practice.
