Job Summary

The Fashion Designer will be responsible for creating cutting-edge, commercially viable, and visually appealing clothing designs. The role includes developing design concepts, researching trends, sketching designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting the execution of the design process from ideation to final product.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities

- Assist and support the design head in creating innovative apparel designs.
- Execute design concepts, create silhouettes, and finalize styles.
- Collaborate with the textile team to finalize silhouettes, prints, colors, fabrics, and consumption.
- Prepare and document the sampling process, including expenses and sample spec sheets.
- Produce hand-drawn or digital designs using industry-standard design software.
- Create sketches, placement drawings, and technical drawings for apparel collections.
- Develop tech packs, spec sheets, and detailed layouts of collections.
- Understand fabric cutting, consumption, and costing for samples.
- Work closely with artisans and suppliers for sampling and development.
- Coordinate with the design team and production merchant as required.
- Document the entire collection process from ideation to final product development.
- Photograph the sampling process and create a visual library.
- Support the team with photoshoots, cataloguing, and presentations.
- Apply knowledge of Indian crafts and textiles into contemporary design work.
- Perform any other design-related tasks as assigned by management.

Additional Responsibilities

- Stay updated with global and domestic fashion trends.
- Conduct market research to understand customer preferences and competitor positioning.




- Attend fashion shows, exhibitions, and sourcing fairs for design inspiration.
- Collaborate with marketing teams for product promotion and launch campaigns.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, interns, or trainees.
- Uphold brand standards and ensure all designs align with the brand’s image and target audience.
- Present design concepts during review meetings with stakeholders.
- Continuously upgrade skills through professional development and training.
- Ensure all projects are completed within timelines and meet required deadlines.

Performance Measures / Reports

- Successful development and execution of design concepts for new collections.
- Accuracy in technical specification sheets, measurement reports, and fit approvals.
- Effective collaboration with production teams to ensure quality and manufacturability.
- Timely completion of sampling, fittings, and final approvals.
- Detailed documentation and reporting on garment measurements, fit issues, and quality assessments.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in apparel/fashion design.
- Strong sketching, illustration, and CAD software skills (CorelDRAW, Photoshop, Illustrator, CLO 3D, etc.).
- Knowledge of Indian textiles, crafts, embroidery, and surface ornamentation.
- Sound understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and costing.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
