We're looking for a Patent Associate who can take full ownership of a patent portfolio — from sitting with an inventor to understand what they've built, to drafting a specification that actually protects it, to seeing it through prosecution. This isn't a role where you draft what someone else has scoped out; you'll run matters independently, mainly in engineering-heavy inventions.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

- Independently handle patent matters end to end — from invention disclosure discussions with inventors/clients through to grant
- Draft patent specifications (provisional and complete), including claims, for mechanical, electrical, and other engineering-domain inventions
- Conduct prior art and patentability searches, and advise on patentability
- Draft responses to First Examination Reports (FERs) and handle prosecution before the Indian Patent Office
- Coordinate with foreign associates for PCT and national phase filings where required
- Communicate directly with inventors and clients to extract the technical detail a strong specification actually needs

Who We're Actually Looking For





- 2–4 years of hands-on experience independently drafting patent specifications and handling prosecution — not just assisting on someone else's matters
- Engineering background (B.E./B.Tech) — Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline (Preferred)
- Robust technical writing ability
- Working understanding of Indian patent prosecution (FERs, hearings, timelines); exposure to PCT/international filings is a plus
- Comfortable being handed a portfolio and running it, not being told what to draft next

Good to Have

- Registered Patent Agent (India)
- LLB or equivalent legal qualification alongside the engineering degree
- Prior exposure to US/EP patent practice
