Project Engineer – Commercial Interiors

Job Overview
We are looking for a Project Engineer with 3–6 years of relevant experience in commercial interior projects to manage and coordinate day-to-day site execution activities.
The candidate will be responsible for project coordination, site execution, manpower and subcontractor coordination, material management, quality control, measurements, and progress monitoring. This is a hands-on in office role, requiring strong coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple project activities effectively.
Key Requirement
Commercial interiors experience and project coordination experience are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Site Management
Plan, supervise and coordinate day-to-day site execution activities.
Ensure project work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
Monitor installation and execution of interior fit-out works, including glass partitions, aluminium works, doors and related systems.
Conduct site measurements and ensure proper alignment, levels, finishing and workmanship.
Coordinate with the Project Manager for daily and weekly execution plans.
Ensure required work fronts are available as per the project schedule.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and internal teams for smooth project execution.
Coordinate with design/drawing teams for technical clarifications and site-related requirements.
Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions and escalate them appropriately.
Coordinate manpower, materials and other resources required for timely execution.
Resolve routine site coordination issues and ensure timely follow-up.
Attend site meetings and provide project updates as required.
Manpower & Subcontractor Management
Plan daily manpower requirements based on project priorities.
Supervise site supervisors, installers and subcontractors.
Allocate manpower according to work fronts and project requirements.
Monitor productivity, workmanship and progress.
Coordinate with other agencies at site to avoid work-front clashes.
Material Management
Prepare material requirements based on drawings and site progress.
Coordinate with stores and procurement teams to ensure timely material availability.
Check incoming materials against specifications and approved samples.
Monitor material consumption and wastage.
Ensure proper storage and protection of materials at site.
Quality & Safety
Ensure execution is carried out according to approved quality standards.
Conduct regular quality inspections and coordinate with clients/consultants for inspections.
Monitor finishing, joints, sealants, door alignment, hardware installation and overall workmanship.
Track and close observations, NCRs and punch points within agreed timelines.
Ensure compliance with site HSE requirements and appropriate PPE usage.
Coordinate with the safety team for work permits and safe working procedures.
Planning & Progress Monitoring
Prepare daily and weekly work plans.
Track actual project progress against the planned schedule.
Prepare and submit Daily Progress Reports (DPR).
Highlight delays, constraints and critical activities to the Project Manager.
Maintain manpower and productivity records.
Support project scheduling and recovery plans.
Measurement & Documentation
Take accurate site measurements and maintain measurement records.
Verify quantities executed at site.
Support preparation of RA bills and subcontractor bills.
Track variations and additional works.
Maintain project documentation including DPR/WPR, measurement sheets, material records, inspection requests, RFIs, NCRs, drawing registers and site photographs.

Mandatory Requirements
3–6 years of relevant experience
Commercial interiors experience is mandatory
Project coordination experience is mandatory
Must have hands-on on-site/project site experience
Experience in interior fit-out, glass partition, aluminium works, façade or similar commercial construction projects
Strong coordination and communication skills
Willingness to work at project sites and travel between project locations when required
Educational Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:
Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Or a related engineering field
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Project Engineer who is comfortable working at commercial project sites and can independently coordinate day-to-day project execution.
Candidates with direct experience in commercial interiors, glass partitions, aluminium works, façade or interior fit-out projects will be preferred.
The candidate should be proactive, technically sound, organized and capable of coordinating with multiple stakeholders while working within project timelines and quality standards.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
