Procurement Manager – Industrial Automation

Company: Graven Automation Private Limited
Location: Delhi NCR
Department: Procurement
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: 4–8 years
Salary: ₹30,000–₹40,000/month + performance incentives (depending on experience and capability)

About Graven Automation

Graven Automation is a B2B industrial automation company dealing in PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, servo systems, control components, industrial electronics and automation spares from brands such as Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Delta, Yaskawa and others.

We are building a high-speed, technology-driven procurement operation where ownership, response time and commercial intelligence matter more than hierarchy.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Procurement Manager who can independently manage and improve the complete procurement function.

The person will be responsible for converting sales requirements into commercially viable purchase decisions by identifying suppliers, obtaining competitive pricing, negotiating, checking availability, managing purchase orders and coordinating timely dispatch.

This is an ownership role — not just an RFQ-follow-up role.

The ideal candidate should be able to look at a requirement and say:

“I have checked the options, these are the available sources, this is the landed cost, this is the expected delivery, and this is my recommendation.”Key Responsibilities1. Procurement Management

- Manage complete procurement of industrial automation products and spares.
- Handle Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Delta, Yaskawa and other automation brands.
- Source products from authorized distributors, stockists, traders, importers and international suppliers.
- Maintain a strong supplier network across India and overseas.
- Identify alternative suppliers when regular sources cannot fulfil requirements.

2. Price Negotiation

- Negotiate purchase prices, payment terms, delivery timelines and freight.
- Compare multiple supplier quotations before making purchasing decisions.
- Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain historical purchase-price data and use it during negotiations.
- Understand market pricing and identify abnormal supplier quotations.

3. Availability & Lead Time

- Verify actual stock availability instead of relying only on verbal commitments.
- Confirm manufacturing/production dates, condition, warranty and delivery timelines where applicable.
- Track critical and urgent requirements.
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies for obsolete,

discontinued or difficult-to-source products.

4. Purchase Orders

- Review procurement requirements received from Sales/CCT.
- Select the appropriate supplier based on price, availability, reliability and delivery.
- Approve/recommend purchases according to company authority limits.
- Ensure purchase orders are accurate and commercially complete.
- Coordinate with Accounts and Dispatch for payment and delivery.

5. Supplier Management

- Develop and maintain supplier relationships.
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, response time and reliability.
- Onboard new suppliers.
- Maintain supplier performance records.
- Negotiate improved commercial terms with high-volume suppliers.
- Build backup suppliers for critical products and brands.

6. Team Management

- Lead and manage the procurement team.
- Allocate procurement requirements among executives.
- Monitor procurement TAT and pending requirements.
- Train team members on sourcing, negotiation and supplier evaluation.
- Review team performance daily/weekly.
- Ensure no procurement requirement remains without an owner or next action.

7. Cross-Department Coordination

Work closely with:

Sales → CCT → Procurement → Accounts → Dispatch

Ensure that procurement does not become a bottleneck for sales orders.

8. CRM / GravenOneDesk

- Maintain 100% procurement activity in GravenOneDesk.
- Ensure every requirement has a clear owner, status, next action and expected completion time.
- Maintain supplier quotations, purchase prices and procurement history.
- Monitor ageing and SLA breaches.
- Use procurement data to identify pricing trends, suppliers and savings opportunities.

- Standard procurement requirement: initial response within 30 minutes
- Standard sourcing: target completion within 2 hours
- Urgent requirements: priority handling immediately
- Zero unattended procurement requirements.

- Every pending requirement must have a documented reason and next action.
- Escalation should happen with a recommendation, not simply with the problem.

What We Are Looking ForMust Have

- 4–8 years of procurement/purchasing experience.
- Experience with industrial automation/electrical/electronics/MRO products.
- Strong vendor network and sourcing capability.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of PLC, VFD, HMI, servo, control components and industrial electrical products.
- Strong Excel/ERP/CRM skills.
- Ability to work under strict TATs.
- Strong communication and commercial judgement.

Preferred

- Experience with Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Delta, Yaskawa or similar brands.
- Experience in import/domestic sourcing.
- Experience dealing with distributors, stockists and system integrators.
- Experience managing a procurement team.
- Experience in B2B industrial distribution.

Most Important: Ownership

We are not looking for someone who waits for instructions for every decision.

We want someone who:

- Finds solutions before escalating.
- Negotiates instead of simply forwarding supplier prices.
- Finds alternate suppliers when the first supplier fails.
- Takes responsibility for delivery commitments.
- Tracks pending requirements without being reminded.
- Makes recommendations backed by data.
- Accepts mistakes and fixes them quickly.
- Understands that procurement directly affects sales, margin and customer satisfaction.

Our principle:

Escalate the problem. Never escalate the ownership.
