Role & responsibilities:
- Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Payroll Processing
- Calculate and process monthly payroll across regular, consultant, and off-role employees using HRMS/Payroll software (e.g., Keka, Darwinbox, GreytHR, SAP HCM, or Excel models).
2. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure accurate calculations, deductions, and timely monthly/annual filings for statutory compliances:
- Provident Fund (PF) & Employee State Insurance (ESI).
- Professional Tax (PT) & Labour Welfare Fund (LWF).
- Tax Deducted at Source (TDS on Salary / Section 192).
- Manage investment declaration verification, Form 12BB collection, and proof validation cycles (HRA, 80C, 80D, etc.).
- Generate and issue Form 16 (Part A & Part B) annually and coordinate quarterly TDS return filings (Form 24Q).
3. Audit, Reconciliation & Reporting
- Reconcile payroll outputs monthly against General Ledger (GL) accounts in coordination with the Finance/Accounts team.
- Maintain accurate payroll registers, variance statements, and MIS reports for management review.
- Lead and support internal, external, and statutory compliance audits related to payroll, HR records, and employee tax withholdings.
4. Employee Support & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll queries regarding payslips, tax deductions, investment proofs, and F&F; payouts.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of sensitive payroll and personnel data.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources. An M.Com or MBA in HR/Finance is a plus.
- Experience: 3 to 6 years of hands-on experience in handling Indian end-to-end payroll processing and statutory compliances.
- Core Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems/HRMS (e.g., Keka, GreytHR, ADP, SAP, Workday).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, Pivot Tables, logical formulas, data validation).
- Thorough knowledge of Indian labor laws, PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity Act, and Income Tax rules pertaining to salaries.
- Collect, verify, and validate inputs from various stakeholders including attendance, leave records, overtime, shifts, joining/exit dates, and variable payouts.
- Execute full & final (F&F;) settlements for departing employees within stipulated timelines, including leave encashment, notice period adjustments, and gratuity calculations.
- Prepare bank transfer advice files and coordinate with the Finance team for accurate salary disbursements.
Job Types: Full time, Permanent
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹480,000.00 per month
