About the Engagement

Lamppost Digital is looking for an experienced freelance WordPress Developer to support selected website projects, advanced customisations, integrations, troubleshooting and urgent technical requirements.

This is an on-demand freelance engagement and not a full time position. Work will be allocated based on project requirements, availability and the developer’s area of expertise.

We are looking for someone who can quickly understand an existing website, identify the root cause of an issue and deliver a clean, stable and properly tested solution.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and customise professional WordPress websites.
- Work with Elementor and Elementor Pro.
- Handle custom themes, child themes and plugin customisation.
- Diagnose and resolve complex WordPress, theme, plugin and hosting issues.
- Implement custom functionality using PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Integrate APIs, payment gateways, CRM, LMS, forms and third-party tools.
- Work on WooCommerce setup, customisation and troubleshooting.
- Improve website speed, Core Web Vitals and overall performance.
- Handle website migrations, staging environments, backups, SSL and DNS-related requirements.
- Identify and fix security vulnerabilities, malware and access-related issues.
- Resolve responsive-design and cross-browser compatibility problems.
- Review existing code and provide stable,



maintainable solutions.
- Test all completed work before submission or production deployment.
- Provide accurate effort estimates, progress updates and technical documentation.

Required Skills

- Minimum five years of professional WordPress development experience.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Advanced experience with Elementor and Elementor Pro.
- Experience in custom theme and plugin development or modification.
- Strong WordPress debugging and troubleshooting ability.
- Experience with WooCommerce and third-party integrations.
- Understanding of hosting environments, cPanel, DNS, SSL, databases and website migration.
- Knowledge of website security, backups and performance optimisation.
- Ability to work safely on existing client websites without affecting live functionality.
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed timelines.
- Clear professional communication and reliable availability.

Added Advantages

- Experience with Shopify-to-WordPress or platform migrations.
- Experience with LMS, membership or course platforms.
- Familiarity with automation tools, CRM and WhatsApp integrations.
- Experience with Git, staging and version-control workflows.




- Knowledge of technical SEO, GA4, GTM and conversion tracking.
- Previous experience supporting a digital agency or multiple client projects.

Engagement Expectations

- The developer must review the requirement and provide an estimated time and cost before beginning the work.
- Work should start only after scope and pricing approval.
- Regular progress updates must be provided for ongoing assignments.
- Client data, credentials, source code and project information must be kept confidential.
- Work must not be outsourced or shared with another person without written approval.
- Direct communication with Lamppost Digital clients should happen only when specifically authorised.
- All source files, code, credentials and documentation must be handed over after completion.
- Each assignment must be thoroughly tested before submission.
- Project allocation will be based on business requirements and does not guarantee a fixed volume of work.
