QC Chemist - Chemical Manufacturing
Job Description: Quality Control (QC) Chemist Chemical Manufacturing
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled QC Chemist to join our team in the pigments and color chemical manufacturing industry. The QC Chemist will play a pivotal role in ensuring that raw materials, intermediates, and finished products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves performing routine and advanced testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Control Testing:
- Conduct chemical, physical, and instrumental analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Perform color matching, shade adjustment, and consistency testing for pigments and colorants.
- Use analytical instruments such as spectrophotometers, chromatographs, and pH meters.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Record and analyze test results, maintaining accurate and detailed laboratory records.
- Prepare certificates of analysis (COAs) and quality control reports.
- Document deviations and non-conformances and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Instrument Maintenance & Calibration:
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot issues with analytical instruments and ensure their proper functioning.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to company quality standards and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., ISO, REACH, FDA, etc.).
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a secure working environment in the laboratory.
- Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with production and R&D; teams to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
- Assist in developing new methods and improving existing testing procedures for pigments and color chemicals.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance to production teams regarding product quality concerns.
- Participate in customer audits and provide technical support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 1-5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in chemical manufacturing.

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced R&D; Officer to support research, product development, process improvement, laboratory trials, and scale-up activities in a chemical manufacturing environment. The candidate will work closely with Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Process Engineering teams to develop and optimize chemical products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory-scale experiments, trials, and product development activities.
- Develop and optimize chemical formulations and manufacturing processes.
- Perform raw material evaluation and identify suitable alternatives.
- Conduct experiments for process optimization, yield improvement, and cost reduction.
- Prepare laboratory batches and evaluate product performance.
- Support scale-up of successful laboratory trials from lab to pilot/plant scale.
- Analyze experimental results and prepare technical reports and trial records.
- Maintain proper documentation of formulations, SOPs, batch records, and experimental data.
- Coordinate with QC/QA teams for testing and evaluation of developed products.
- Investigate process or product-related issues and support root-cause analysis.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, samples, and records.
- Support transfer of developed products/processes to production.
- Stay updated on new technologies, raw materials, and chemical processes relevant to the business.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of chemical reactions, formulations, process development, and laboratory practices.
- Hands-on experience in chemical laboratory experimentation and product development.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret test results and prepare technical documentation.
- Knowledge of chemical handling, laboratory safety, and EHS practices.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and technical documentation.
Qualification
B.Sc./M.Sc. Chemistry, B.Tech./M.Tech. Chemical Engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Preferred Industry Exposure
Candidates from Specialty Chemicals, Chemical Manufacturing, Pigments, Dyes, Resins, Polymers, Adhesives, or other process-chemical industries will be preferred.
Candidate Profile
- 1–5 years of relevant R&D; experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on laboratory and trial experience.
- Willingness to work closely with plant/production teams.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
