Job Summary

We are looking for a Lighting Technician with hands-on experience in the installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of lighting fixtures at residential, commercial, hospitality, and other project sites.

The candidate will be responsible for carrying out lighting fixture installation as per approved drawings, site requirements, and project schedules, while maintaining proper workmanship, safety, and quality standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Lighting Fixture Installation

- Install various types of lighting fixtures including ceiling lights, downlights, spotlights, linear lights, profile lights, pendant lights, wall lights, decorative fixtures, and other architectural lighting fixtures.
- Carry out fixture mounting, alignment, leveling, and securing as per approved drawings and site requirements.
- Install lighting fixtures at different locations including ceilings, walls, false ceilings, furniture, joinery, and other designated areas.
- Handle installation of fixtures carefully to avoid damage during transportation and installation.

2. Electrical Wiring & Connections

- Carry out wiring and termination for lighting fixtures as per drawings and instructions.
- Connect fixtures to the designated power/control points.
- Perform proper cable termination, crimping, insulation, and dressing.
- Identify and rectify loose connections, wiring issues, and other installation-related faults.
- Coordinate with the electrical team for power availability and required connection points.

3. Lighting Control & Dimming

- Assist in installation and connection of dimmable lighting fixtures and lighting control systems.
- Support technicians/engineers in wiring and testing of lighting control, dimming, switching, and automation systems.




- Carry out basic troubleshooting of lighting control and fixture-related issues under the guidance of the Project Engineer.

4. Testing & Commissioning

- Test installed lighting fixtures for proper operation.
- Check fixture alignment, illumination, switching, dimming, and functionality.
- Identify defective fixtures, drivers, power supplies, or connections and report the same to the Project Engineer.
- Assist in final testing and commissioning of lighting systems.

5. Site Execution & Coordination

- Execute daily installation activities as assigned by the Project Engineer / Site Supervisor.
- Coordinate with electrical, false ceiling, interior, HVAC, and other site teams to ensure smooth installation.
- Follow approved drawings, installation details, and site instructions.
- Report site constraints, material shortages, drawing discrepancies, and installation issues to the concerned engineer.
- Complete assigned work within project timelines.

6. Material Handling

- Check lighting fixtures and accessories received at site for quantity and visible damages.
- Handle lighting fixtures, drivers, cables, accessories, and tools safely.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure materials are stored safely.
- Inform the supervisor about shortages, damages, or defective materials.

7. Quality & Safety

- Follow project quality standards and installation procedures.
- Ensure proper alignment, finishing, and workmanship of installed fixtures.
- Follow all site safety requirements and use appropriate PPE, ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.




- Maintain safe working practices while working at height.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and properly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Electrical or equivalent qualification preferred.
- 1–4 years of hands-on experience in lighting fixture installation.
- Good practical knowledge of electrical wiring and termination.
- Experience in installation of different types of lighting fixtures.
- Ability to read and understand basic electrical / lighting drawings.
- Knowledge of basic electrical tools and testing instruments.
- Ability to work at project sites and coordinate with other trades.
- Willingness to work at height and on ladders/scaffolding where required.
- Good attitude, discipline, punctuality, and willingness to learn.

Reporting

Reports To: Project Engineer / Project Manager – Lighting / Automation

Job Objective

To ensure safe, accurate, and timely installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning of lighting fixtures at project sites in accordance with approved drawings, project requirements, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
